After the dogs had settled down and quit their barking, he opened the door wide enough for Alan to come inside. The house was almost completely silent, except for the mumbling coming from the television in the living room. "Much better than the last time you saw me. I finally bought that car I always kept talking about." Dodger smiled, he couldn't have been any happier that his old friend had come to visit him after so many years. Dodger took a seat on the couch and flipped off the television, the only light source in the room coming from the lamp near the door. Marv jumped onto the couch and sat comfortably on Dodger's lap, snorting and dozing off to sleep.
Alan took his seat and began to discuss with Dodger the company his father started but never did anything with as soon as his alcohol addiction kicked in. Depression and alcoholism was a deadly mix that eventually did the old man in, leaving the company in Alan's hands. "It's been so long...I almost forgot about it." He looked at Marv and smirked, he was still as lazy as he was when he picked him up off the streets. "Well...I don't see why I wouldn't be able to take it over."

Alan remain standing, "About time, it seems like you were almost ready to go nuts if you didn't get it." He said with a smile, the last time he saw Dodger was before he moved over to California for a new future and hopefully get out of following his father's footsteps. It seemed that he had a good future ahead of him if he chose to take over the company that his father had before he passed away from drinking himself to death. Alan saw the dog resting on Dodger's lap he seemed like a friendly dog, but for Beau who was laying on the carpet it seemed that Beau was watching his every move, "He seems like the protective type." Alan said looking at Beau, who rose his head looking at Alan then Dodger, before resting his head back on the ground, "That one on your lap seems to have a different life style." He said chuckling at Marv.
After hearing Dodger's answer a smile appeared on his face, "I'm glad to hear that. The company has had a few upgrades since you left but i'm more then happy to show you the ropes...But of course there's that matter of moving back to Dallas Dodger, or you're gonna have to spend some time traveling there and back." Alan said, he was glad Dodger was willing to give taking over the company and giving it worth a try.
Sarafina thought she was hearing things until she heard that voice again, she started to slowly walk down stairs her arms crossed trying to keep herself from getting chilly since she just got out of a warm bed to see what was going on. When she got to the stairs she saw somebody standing up, she never seen him before, she quietly made her halfway down the stairs, "Dodger, what's going on?" Sarafina asked tiredly since she was still half asleep. When Alan heard the voice, he snapped his head towards the stairs seeing a beautiful blonde stand there, he remained silent to let Dodger talk and do what he needed to do.

"You should have seen me when I wrecked it. But that's why I'm glad I have rich friends." Dodger smirked, the memory of crashing his old red Challenger still fresh in his mind. It was his senior year of high school, and he walked around campus with an obnoxious lime green cast on his arm just because he could. Marv looked up at his owner and snorted, he'd witnessed Dodger's stupidity from the moment he found the dog wondering around the streets. Marv was an ornery little dog, or maybe he only acted that way because his owner did. "As long as he's fed, Marv could care less." All he ever did was chase squirrels and sleep all day.
Moving back to Dallas was an idea he never thought he would reconsider, ever since he left nearly a decade ago. While he missed the only real home he'd ever known, something was keeping him away and he couldn't put a finger on what that was. But if it meant taking the company back into his hands, maybe that was just what he needed to do. "I never thought I would go back home, but I think it would be the best idea."
Dodger had realized that he left the bedroom door open, and that Sarafina woke up to find that he wasn't laying next to him anymore. "This is Alan, he's one of my old friends from Texas and uh, how do you feel about moving to Texas?"

"I bet it wasn't pretty from the result....That's defiantly an up having rich friends. Alan said with a chuckle. He knw Dodger hadn't been home since he left, but the town was still the same, crowded with crazy-ass drivers to top that. Alan was lucky he found Dodger, ever since the Chairmen passed away from old age it was hard on the company they couldn't find anyone on the board that was willing to put in the time and effort to take control of the company. It wasn't easy to track down Dodger after all these years since the last time they spoke was when he said that he was leaving for California. Another chuckle escaped Alan after hearing Dodger's comment, "Sounds like he has a good life."
Beau's head snapped up at the sound of Sarafina's voice, he got up and quickly trotted over to her wagging his tail. Sarafina smiled as Beau come over, petting his head as she started to walk over to the couch, sitting next to Dodger. Sarafina looked over at Dodger with a questioning look on her face, "What for?" She asked looking at Alan, "Well, Dodger's father owned a company that Dodger wasn't really involved in cause of school, and sadly our Chairman who was in control of the company passed away from old age and well, the board and I were hoping Dodger would like to take over the company since nobody else will." Alan replied answering her question. Sarafina remained quiet for a few seconds thinking about it, "Well, I guess it couldn't hurt." Sarafina replied looking at Dodger, a small smile came to her face, remembering how she met Dodger in Texas.

Dodger smiled, relieved that she wasn't opposed to the idea of moving. It wouldn't be easy, adjusting to life halfway across the country but maybe it would be the best idea for the both them anyway. "I was hoping you would agree." Dodger replied with a smile, petting Marv on his back and looking back at Alan. It seemed like a perfectly good idea to him. His only concern was being able to run a company like his father's, which was something he had never done before. Taking the reins for something like that was a lot of work, but he was ready for a challenge.
"So you're okay with moving?"

Sarafina had no second thought about moving, if it was for the better of course. She smiled at Dodger before petting Marv that was resting on Dodger's lap, before looking back at Dodger smiling at his comment about her hoping to agree. She knew things could change after they moved to Dallas but then again the Dodger and her had some wonderful memories back in Dallas. Sarafina looked up at Allan with a kind smile, so he was the voice she had been hearing besides Dodgers, "Of course I am, and to be honest I kinda miss Dallas. She said with a sweet smile. But she wondered how Ravi would react to having to move to Dallas, "But what about Ravi? She asked Dodger softly.

As a kid he never had to move around much, and for most of his childhood he lived under the same roof on the same street, in the same city. Dodger had lived in Texas up until his senior year of high school when he moved to Richmond, and had stayed there ever since. There was no way of knowing how Ravi would react to moving, but he could only hope for the best and assume that he wouldn't completely reject the idea of moving nearly three time zones away. "He should be fine." There was only one way of knowing this for certain, and that was to pack up their things and buy a house in the middle of downtown Dallas. There would be plenty for him to do there, and when he got older and tall enough he could visit Six Flags and ride the roller coasters there.
Dodger smiled and looked at Alan who was sitting in the chair silently, his gaze shifting back and forth between Dodger and Sarafina. "So, when do you think we should move out there?"

Sarafina smiled at Dodger, she figured that maybe moving to Dallas, Texas would be a good thing to do. Sure it would take both of the time to adjust to the Texas life style since they lived in California for so long, she just hoped Ravi would be alright with moving to Texas. Alan looked over at Dodger, "Well, I can send you a few pictures of a houses for sale that are around the company, and we can go over what happens after that." Alan said with a small smile.
"Mommy, Daddy what's going on? Ravi said as he walked down the stairs, rubbing his right eye tiredly. Sarafina looked over to Ravi, got up walking over to him "Ravi, what are you doing up? Sarafina asked, "I had a nightmare.Ravi said to his mother, rubbing his eye, letting out a tired yawn. Alan looked at Sarafina and Ravi, then stood up "Well, i'm sorry for disturbing you this late Dodger. I'll send you a few a picture by mail, i'll keep in touch. Alan said walking to the door.

Dodger looked over at Ravi who was having a rough night, rubbing his tired eyes as he walked over to Sarafina. "That sounds great, just give me a call when you find something good." Their family didn't need anything big, but inheriting such a large company meant they would have plenty of money for it if they needed it. They would be able to live comfortably now, with more than enough money to send Ravi to a good college when the time came for that. He would be working more hours than he was used to, but the pros by far outweighed the cons in the long run. What his dad failed to do, Dodger knew he could succeed.
"Ravi, how do you feel about moving?" Dodger looked up at him with a smile, hoping he would say that he was just fine with moving and starting a new life in a different state.

Sarafina continued to hold Ravi trying to have him fall asleep, a small smile appeared on Sarafina's face as Dodger asked what did he think about moving,"Where?" Ravi asked holding his arms out to his dad to carry him. Sarafina looked at Dodger with the usual He's all yours. expression on her face,"To Dallas, Texas." Sarafina said softly placing a hand on Ravi's head smiling, " The Texas where they have cowboys and horses? He asked yawning, "Yeah. Sarafina said smiling. Ravi yawned " It sounds fun.

With a comment like that, Dodger couldn't help but smile. Maybe Ravi was just as tired as he was. The sleepy kid walked over to him and held out his arms, his way of saying he wanted to be held or else he was going to fall down and sleep on the floor. "Oh yeah, there are tons of cowboys and horses." Dodger smiled, finding it somewhat funny that was the first thing that came to Ravi's mind when Sarafina told him where they would be moving to. "I think we could both use some sleep." He replied with a smile, looking over at Sarafina who looked just as tired as he did. "Maybe we'll meet a few cowboys while we're there."
It was hard to believe after so many years of never wanting look back, he would be moving back to the only home he's ever known.

Ravi rested his head on his father's shoulder as he yawned obviously falling asleep, "That would be pretty neat, meeting a cowboy.... Ravi said before finally falling asleep. Sarafina smiled at Ravi as he fell asleep in Dodger's arms, "I think we can all use some sleep." Sarafina said softly looking at Dodger with a sweet smile, "Let's get him to bed." She said to Dodger, as she started to walk up to the stairs, then to Ravi's room seeing it open a little bit from when Ravi went downstairs, Sarafina pushed the door open giving Dodger more room to walk in.

The more he thought about sleep, the more appealing it sounded to him and collapsing onto his bed sounded like a swell idea. Maybe Ravi would get to meet a real life cowboy, there were plenty of those in Texas who lived to rodeo. "Poor kid, I've never seen him this tired." Before he knew it, Ravi had drifted off to sleep with his head resting calmly on his shoulders. He followed Sarafina up the stairs as she pushed open the door just enough for him to slip inside the room. Turning on the light, he made sure to carefully lay Ravi down so that he wouldn't wake up as he pulled the covers up.
"Sleep. That sounds good right now."

Watches as Dodger places Ravi on the bed, remembering how nervouse Dodger was about being a dad, since both of the fathers did bad at there jobs. But Sarafina had faith in him, and helped him along the way of being a father, and Dodger was great at his father duty. Sarafina wouldn't want anybody else to be Ravi's father except for Dodger, and after Ravi was born, Dodger since he was in college he would call every day to see how Ravi was doing and Sarafina didn't mind that at all, on the weekends Dodger would come down and spend time with Ravi.
Sarafina watched Dodger tuck Ravi under the covers to keep him warm, she apporched the bed, leaned over kissing Ravi on the top of his head. To Sarafina, Ravi and Dodger where her world, Dodger gave her everything she hoped for, a good husband who was the father of her child, and a family something she thought she would never have, she looked over at Dodger with a smile, "Come on, let's go to bed. I'm sure he'll be alright now." She said, as she turned off the light while taking Dodger's hand walking out of Ravi's room.

Having a kid at such a young age wasn't easy for either of them, especially during Sarafina's junior year of high school. Saying that Dodger was an ornery pain in the ass was the understatement of the century, and he could only hope that Ravi would inherit more of Sarafina's qualities than his. Although he was too proud to admit it at the time, the nerves started the kick in the moment she told him their party would be growing by one. He shut the door behind him, smiling wearily at Sarafina who suggested they should be hit the hay before one of them passed out on the floor. "I think I'm almost as tired as he is."
Never in a million years would he have seen himself being married with a kid, before he moved to California. He'd been on his own for so long that the idea of being with someone almost seemed unrealistic. He couldn't help but smile every time she looked at him, thinking how incredibly lucky he was to be right here with her.
