Sarafina followed him into the ice cream shop, as soon as the door opened she was hit the cool air that was refreshing especially if you were out in the sun for hours on end. It wouldn't surprise Sarafina if this place stayed for a very long time. She looked over the meanu that was on the side of the room, after a few seconds she finally came to a decision on choosing the Cookie Dough.
When she finally got her ice cream, she followed Dodger to a quiet booth that was away from the crowd, after sitting down she took a quick bite from her ice cream then hear Dodger ask what she was doing in Dallas "Visiting some friends and family." She said to him, she looked up at him almost making eye contact with him.

Now that he thought about it, he wanted to move out. He'd been thinking about California for some time now, just because it was as far away as he could get without driving into the ocean. His dad never drove that old car anyway, and Dodger would be doing his dad a favor by taking it off his hands. He liked to think of it as "borrowing." There wasn't much to do around here anyway, he'd done it all. Dodger spent most of his free time attempting to write songs and playing football, an odd combination but he could care less. She told him she was here visiting some friends and family, which seemed like a pretty good reason to him. But once he got out of Texas, he didn't plan on coming back anytime soon. "That sounds like fun. " He told her with a smile.
"So, what did you think about that song earlier?"

Sarafina would be moving to California soon with her father to hopefully start a new life, and to get a better education then Nevada could afford she was already enrolled at Richmond High School, so it would be about another two weeks before she left. But in the meantime she was pefectly content with where she was now, enjoying some down time in Dallas, Texas and so far she was really enjoying it, yeah, it was hot but it couldn't stop her from having fun. Sarafina took another bite from her ice cream, before hearing Dodger's voice she looked up at him with a smile.
"I really enjoyed it. I gotta say you got talent, Dodger." She said to him with a sweet smile. When she looked up at him she finally made eye contact him, she bit down her bottom lip shyly.

Dodger learned how to play guitar after he realized there was nothing better to do around his house. He could either listen to his dad complain, or drown it out with the guitar. So, he bought a copy of Guitars for Dummies and a guitar off of a kid in his first period class. $250 wasn't bad for a guitar that had been to hell and back, and had the battle scars to prove it. It came pretty natural to him, and soon enough he was being paid decent amounts to play random gigs. Dodger spent most of his days and evenings singing at amusement parks, but at least he liked doing it.
He smiled at her compliment. "Thanks. Too bad talent doesn't pay the bills". Dodger said with a half smile.

Sarafina didn't know how to play the guitar but she always wanted to learn, but her father was too much into his drinking to teach her "Well, people should after all you shouldn't be putting your talent to waste." Sarafina before taking the last bite of her ice cream, her heart was thumping against her chest, she never thought she would be sitting at a table with a good looking guy like Dodger. Sarafina made eye contact with him again, she was getting lost in those faded blue eyes so easily, but she didn't mind it at all.
"I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but I don't know anyone who plays it except you." She said with a sweet smile on her face.

He wanted to make something out of himself, and maybe music was the right field for him. But booking gigs alone was insanely expensive, and he only got a portion of the ticket sales anyway. He got paid a decent amount today, and most of it would be going towards his car fund. "Maybe some day, but until then I really need a car. My dad's too busy blowing his money to beer to help me out." Dodger shrugged, hoping that his mother's inheritance would help him buy the car he had been looking at for some time now. His dad never even used that old car...so Dodger had the bright idea of driving it to the old Dodge dealership and getting a new Challenger, but he didn't even have the money for a down payment. That dream was crushed pretty quick, but at least the Ducati still worked.
He looked up at her, with a half-smile on his face. "I got bored of being well, bored, so I bought my guitar and some how-to books and learned it myself. But, maybe you'd like to learn a few things?" He certainly wouldn't mind showing her.

Sarafina could only wonder what Dodger's plan were in the future, he had a great talent that shouldn't be put to waste but it was his decision on what he wanted to with his future. She lifted her head, looking up at him when he spoke about his father buying nothing but booze instead of helping out with simple household things. Sarafina could relate, her father was nothing but a drunk, sober during the day to get money to put into his pocket, then going to the nearest store to buy his favorite booze. Sarafina couldn't count on her father for anything, hell she learned to drive when she was just fourteen years old to get to school, her part time job, then go home and use the last of her energy to cook dinner, clean up after words, and get as much homework done as possible. Sometimes her dad would drink enough to start slugging her around a bit, just to make himself feel better, she had the marks that were hidden by her clothing to prove it from a few weeks back. of course when Sarafina couldn't tell anyone about it since she knew she would be put in a foster-home faster then she could blink, "It looks like you and me have something in common, Dodger." She said to him, resting her hand on the table folding them over eachother.
When she heard Dodger say how he pretty much learned from scratch it impressed her a little bit, not a lot of people could teach them to play by themselves, but luckly Dodger was one of very few who could a sweet smile appeared on her face when he offered to teach her a few things, "I would like that very much Dodger." She replied to him.

Something struck a chord with her, something that he said seemed relevant to her as well. "That's a long story, I guess. Wouldn't want to bother you with that." Dodger shrugged, poking around at his ice cream until it had melted into a puddle. His dad was a bigger influence on him than he had realized, sneaking into the booze cabinet and drinking himself to sleep just so he wouldn't have to hear his dad mumble on and on again about Dodger's mother. Sometimes he'd just get wasted for the hell of it, leaving his house for days just to get himself some breathing room. He always told himself he'd break away from that someday, but it got a little harder every time he walked through the door at home. Dodger knew all too well that he needed to break away from this place, and try to start someplace new and get as far away as humanly possible.
She'd been the first person he'd had a decent conversation with all day, and he was liking every moment of it. "How long are you going to be in Texas?"

Sarafina would love to leave her father more then anything in the world but there was only one problem, where would she go? Of course she had family members here and there but she knew that they were too busy or had kids to take care of and Sarafina wasn't the one to pry and cling on to people, "Don't worry about." Then again, she didn't have anyone to cling on to, she was on her own ever since her mother died. She didn't have anyone that was above the friend status, well she did until her ex-boyfriend made an ass of himself at a party. So she really didn't have anyone really close to her.
"A few weeks, i'm really not needed at home for the moment." She said with a sweet smile. Dodger, seemed like such a nice guy and she could see herself hanging out with him a lot, wile she's here.

The second his dad sobered up enough to realize his car was gone, Dodger would be well on his way to California. Why California? Well, he had no idea but it was as far as he could afford and he had just the high school in mind. Richmond High School was a nice little school (okay, so little might be the wrong word to use) but the dorms seemed nice and the thought of living on his own sounded more appealing each and every day. He had everything all planned out, and could just about everything he owned in one suitcase if he packed it right. Maybe he would just leave the Ducati here, and hope that his father would have enough sense to look after it. But of course, that was hoping for a lot. It'd be a miracle of his dad would acknowledge his son's existence for once.
"I live a few miles away, maybe you'd like to hang out sometime?"

Sarafina would wonder what life would be like in California, hopefully it would be better then back in Sparks. She would be moving there in a few weeks when the semester started, but the bad part was she was going with her father, who she knew would beat her to a pulp if she decided to stay at the dorms but she would rather be there then with her father anyway. For once in her life, it seemed she had finally met someone who was understanding her, Sarafina didn't really get along with the males since her father was pratically the only male she's been around, but Dodger seemed different. It almost seemed he knew what she was going through, she felt that she could give him a chance.
When he offered to them hanging out a smile appeared on her face, "I would like that, Dodger. I would like it a lot." She said with smile on her face, slightly blushing a bit.

Don't get your hopes up, she won't be here forever. He knew he should warn himself a head of time, just in case he started to like her more than he had originally planned. "Great, any place in particular you'd like to go?" This was one of those scenarios where he really wished he had his dad's car. Getting the car wasn't the issue, it was explaining to his dad why it was gone that was the hard part. His dad was a deadbeat, but he had brains. But regardless of that, he still had a reliable form of transportation that wasn't too bad looking either. As much as he wanted to leave this city, it was the only home he'd ever known. As good as it might feel to leave, he would always miss the only place that had been home to him. However, he could do without the scorching summer sun.
Dodger crumbled up his ice cream cup and tossed it into the trash.

Sarafina wondered what her time here in Dalls would be like since Dodger was now in the picture, she could see a friendship growing already between the two of them but what if something started to form between a stronger bond then friendship? She didn't know if it would or not, it was possibe. But she didn't know if it was possible, Sarafina hasn't had anyone above the friend status in awhile even though she would like to have someone care for her and love her like a real man should, "I've never been in Dallas before, well this is actually my first time in Texas at all...So I don't have any particular ideas on where would be a good place to go. So do you have any ideas on where we should visit, well if you would like to join me. She said with a sweet smile, catching his gaze.

Dodger smirked, because this day was slowly starting to become much better by the minute. "I would love to join you." It didn't matter where they went, he was just dying to spend a little more time with her and get to know her more. "As miserably hot as it gets here, there are few cool places to go, what do you say we get out of here?" This also gave him a good excuse to drive his Ducati around town. But as he got to thinking, he knew just where his dad kept the keys to his old car. Dodger smirked at his own brilliant plan, even if it resulted in pissing his dad off more than he already did.
"So, where are you from?"

Sarafina felt her heart jump as he accepted to join her, afterall she would feel better having someone who knew their way around her instead of her getting lost and ending up in the middle of nowhere. She threw her ice cream cup in the trash as he said there was a few nice places to visit even though it was hotter then hell here, but the head didn't phase her afterall she was born and was currently being raised in Sparks, Nevada, "Alright, it sounds like a good plan." She said with a sweet smile, as she got up and started to follow him.
"I'm from Sparks, Nevada." She said as she walked next to him.
