Sarafina was hanging out in the waiting room waiting for her appointment for the ultrasound to come up, when she felt a strong kick and wet between her legs. A nurse passing by called out, and got a wheel car and quickly took her to a room where they put her in a hospital gown, but that was probably a few minutes or so ago. Right now she was in the room, feeling nothing but contraction after contraction, and men say they had it rough, but boy where they wrong. After taking a quick ultrasound after her water broke the nurse said there was no time for Epidural since the baby was close to coming out, and that was ten minutes ago. Maybe it took a longer time for Epidural to kick in, but she didn't know.
After just staring up at the ceiling she saw nurses coming in with a cart, a few blankets and a towel and a few other things when the baby came out. Sarafina asked one of the nurses to call Dodger for her since he was the father afterall, and he was probably wondering where she was to, since Ultrasounds didn't take so long. He knew that much since he came on a few appointments with her, another contraction his her, she let out a deep another deep breath feeling slight pain. When the nurse told her to sit up a bit and lift her legs up, and spread them apart, Sarafina knew she was alone on this one. The contractions stopped, a few minutes before the doctor walked in. Sarafina was slightly scared, afterall she was about to give birth to a baby who knows what could happen.
After the doctor sat down on the car infront of Sarafina, the doctor looked for a second and told to give a push, Sarafina did as she was told...nothing....doctor told her another push....nothing....one more time the doctor said..."Alright mom, here he comes." The doctor said, the doctor continued to tell her when to push and Sarafina responded with a push, after a few good pushes, the sound of a baby crying started to fill the room. A nurse placed a towel on Sarafina's chest, the doctor placed baby on the towel as a nurse started to clean him "You got a name for him?" She asked, "Ravi Taylor Moore." Sarafina replied with a smile at the nurse, as she continued to clean him while a another nurse cleared the nose and mouth of mucus, when the nurse got the head and started to clean the hair "Look at little blondie here....look at all that blonde hair." Smiling at Sarafina, who couldn't help but smile "He's got his daddy's eyes." Sarafina smiled, he looked so much like his father. She couldn't help but smile, the nurses continued to clean Ravi, to Sarafina Ravi seemed so perfect to her.
After a few minutes, the doctor came and took Ravi to weigh him after a few seconds the doctor brought him back "He's eight pounds five ounces. He's a perfect healthy baby." Smiling, as she handed a now clean and dry, wrapped in a blue blanket and beanie Ravi . Sarafina held her son close to him, smiling at him "Your daddy is gonna love you." She said softly to him, kissing his tiny forehead. [/blockquote]

Hospitals smell funny...
The waiting room walls were painted an almost queasy, sick shade of grey and the floors were dusty and checkered with tile. He had no idea what time it was and didn't really care either, he had been sitting there flipping through magazines for the last hour and a half. After fiddling with the remote and television and finding absolutely nothing to watch but infomercials, turning off seemed like the only option he had left. The occasional nurse would turn the corner, asking if he wanted to help himself to the hospital's cafeteria and for once in his life, food was the least of his concerns. I never thought I would say no to free food...even if it tastes like complete shit.
Dodger was sitting alone in the waiting room, hearing nothing but the old rock music that softly played on the speakers as he hummed along with the music. Every once and while he would look up at a nurse or doctor who walked past the room without even glancing in, giving him hint he would just have to wait a little while longer. He thought about getting up and walking around...but hospitals were intimidating and freaky as hell. Dodger had seen one too many movies where some moron got himself killed by casually sauntering around a hospital at night. "I've just seen too many movies..." He sat back up in his chair to stretch his already stiff body which had been sitting in the exact same spot ever since he sat down.
An older nurse with a clipboard and Sponge Bob themed scrubs stood in the middle of the door frame, tapping the wall with her finger to snap Dodger out of his day dream . He might have fallen asleep if she would have waited any longer. "She asked that I come get you, she's in the room down the hall if you'd like to see her." That was the best thing he'd heard all night.

When Sarafina found out she pregnant with Dodger's baby nince months ago she was nervous, very nervous. And so was Dodger, he seemed to change into a entirely different person when she got further into pregnency with Ravi. There were moments when Dodger looked so excited to become a father, then there were the days that Dodger was about to run for the hills and never look back. But now that Ravi was in her arms, all that nervousness, the thoughts of what would happen, just seem to go away. There were days when Sarafina was sick to her stomach with Ravi, but now that she was holding him, a healthy, clean baby. It was worth it.
"You're so cute." Sarafina said smiling at the baby in her arms, kisses her forehead again. She could only wait to see what Dodger's reaction would be, having a baby was life changing for both of them but she knew as long as they had eachother they were gonna fine, she layed on the bed waiting for Dodger to come in and see his son. It wasn't before long she started to hear footsteps in the hallway, Sarafina couldn't help but look up to see if it was Dodger.

With his mind being such a chaotic mess of thoughts and memories, hearing the nurse's voice was like a splash of ice cold water on his face, waking him up and bring him back down to reality. "Right down the hall....right down the hall." Trying not to rush out the door like a racehorse out of the starting gate he had to pace him. Calm down. That was so much easier said than done...a nine month long roller coaster ride of emotions came to a screeching halt. Time seemed to fly right past them in just a blink of an eye, turning the corner of the hallway until he came across the room the nurse pointed him to.
He could only imagine how she must be feeling, but there was something so peaceful about the way she looked laying there, holding a special little someone wrapped up in blankets. "Yeah, he is." Leaning against the door frame, he couldn't think of anything to say and yet he couldn't take his eyes off of the two of them. It was a feeling he didn't know how to describe the way he was feeling but for once in his life, everything seemed so perfect.

Sarafina looked down at the baby that already reminded her so much of Dodger, especially those baby blue eyes he had. It was then she heard the sound of a very familiar voice, she looked up a smile formed on her face "Dodger...." She said looking at him with a sweet smile. She could tell by the look in his eyes that something changed in him, and for the better, "Come over here." Nods for him to come over, as she scoots over a bit so Dodger could join her.
Dodger gave her so much in her life, love, protection, and the most important thing to her was someone she could trust. It wasn't a easy road getting where she was at the moment, being raised by a drunk father who had nothing else better to do but beat her to a bulp, and drink his alcohol, then came moving to Texas, that changed her life the day she met Dodger playing at Six Flags for a little extra cash, that was a day she would never forget. After being with him a few months they both decided to go to California away from their parent's grasp. And now a few years and month later she married to the guy of her dream, and now she had a son, a family, something she thought she would never have, and there was one person to thank for that and his name was Dodger.

She gave him a small nod, asking for him to come over closer. He looked down at her, giving her a questioning look as she scooted over to the side as if maybe it wasn't such a good idea. But he didn't care if anyone else had a problem with it, she wanted him there and so he decided to sit down beside her. "Look at him, he looks just like me." His eyes were closed but he didn't even have to ask how blue they were.
He looked up at her with a smile, leaning in towards her to softly kiss her on the neck. "How are you feeling?" He could tell he wouldn't be able to sleep much tonight, with way too much on his mind to care about catching some shut eye. Even if he had to sleep on the chair in the hospital room, he was going to stay right here with her.

Sarafina felt so much better when Dodger sat down beside her, she looked back down at Ravi was already sleeping after just being born almost twenty minutes ago and he was already asleep,"He sure does." Sarafina could already tell that he was gonna be just like his father. She felt Dodger's lip against her neck in a soft kiss, she couldn't help but smile at him " I'm feeling a lot now that you're here." She said with a sweet smile, kissing his cheek lovingly. Before looking back down at Ravi then back at Dodger, " Wanna hold him?" Smiling at Dodger.

She looked over at him and asked if he would like to hold a new born Ravi and for a moment he almost hesitated...he just looked so fragile and breakable and he had never been so careful with something before. "Sure...I'll hold him." He couldn't help but smile at the sight of Ravi sleeping, just born and already passed out like a rock. Knowing that she was feeling better came as a relief to him, but maybe that was the drugs talking. "I think you're feeling better now that you're on those hospital meds." Even during a time like this, he still couldn't resist a snarky comment.
She held him out towards Dodger, waiting for him to take Ravi from her arms. Not wanting to wake him up, Dodger extended his arms out to pick him up as carefully as he possibly could. When he was safe and secure resting in his arms, Dodger looked at Sassifrass with a smile. "Is this how you're supposed to hold him?" He felt a little silly for asking, but he'd never had to hold a baby before Ravi came along.

Sarafina knew that Dodger was slightly hesitant when she asked him if he wanted to hold Ravi, but if it was anytime for them to bond now would be the time she knew that Dodger and Ravi would be two peas in a pod when Ravi got older. Especially since Sarafina had one more year left in Richmond, she would miss both of her boys since Dodger graduated last year and he was the new assistant football coach since he knew how to play football and he was the all star quarterback. Sarafina couldn't help but chuckle when Dodger said it was the meds that were talking, "I don't think it's the meds, maybe seeing you is helping me get better." She said with a sweet smile.
Sarafina held Ravi out to Dodger for him to hold him for the first time, Sarafina couldn't stop smiling. When Sarafina was pregnant with Ravi Dodger was a nervous wreck, but now that Ravi was born it seemed like those nerves vanished and she was happy, she was gonna get her old Dodger back. She watched Dodger as he settled Ravi in his arms, a smile appeared on her face, "That's exactly right, your a fast learner." She kissed his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder, she finally had the family she always dreamed about.

Holding the miniature version of himself as carefully as he could, Sassifrass gave him the reassurance that he was doing everything right. "Good...he looks so fragile, I wouldn't want to do anything to mess him up." Brand new and so breakable...he was almost afraid to move and wake up the peacefully sleeping Ravi. "I'll just start listening to you now...you know, since you know what to do." He didn't know how she knew, but she did and he could only hope some of that knowledge would rub off of him. Maybe he would get the hang on this whole being a parent thing.
"I don't know about you, but I'm ready to go home and take the little guy with us." Sassifrass had already spent plenty of time getting Ravi's room ready and did all of the decorating herself. Dodger decided he would be more useful if he sat on the couch instead of helping. He might as well get to know the kid, since he would be spending his mornings and afternoons staying home with him until Sarafina got home from school.

Sarafina had very thought in her mind to her saying that was going to be a amazing father, of course it was going to take time. But all things did take time, afterall nobodies life was perfect but so far her life with Dodger did seem perfect all the nerves the worry that came when Sarafina found out she was pregnant was gone as if it wasn't even there to begin with. Sarafina rested her head on Dodger's shoulder as he held Ravi, there was something about him holding Ravi that brought a spark to her.
Sarafina looked out the window night was falling fast and she didn't want Dodger to drive home sleepy that could resule in a accident like last time that totaled his red Challenger, but it wasn't Dodger's fault, the truck driver fell asleep at wheel. Luckily Dodger came out with only a broken arm and a few brusies, she looked up at Dodger "Babe, it's gonna be dark soon and I don't want you to drive home half asleep. I'm pretty sure you don't wanna stay here." She said softly not wanting to wake up Ravi.

Staying the night in a hospital that gave him the creeps wasn't his idea of a good time, but whatever. The dorm was too far away anyway, and right now he didn't feel like driving anyway. "This hospital is creepy...and no, I don't wanna stay here but I guess I'll crash here for the night." The chair in the room didn't look that uncomfortable, but if he woke up with a million muscle cramps that would be his problem to deal with. "Yeah, I can stay. Parking garages at night are almost as freaky as parking garages in the daytime." Dodger smirked, another dorky movie reference she was used to hearing by now.
Glancing over to the wall to see what the time was, it was just barely eight o'clock and the sun rapidly setting into the horizon. The two of them would have no problem falling asleep tonight, exhausted for their own reasons. "I heard the food here tastes like cardboard."

Sarafina couldn't help but smirk at Dodger's response she knew from the start that Dodger wouldn't want to stay here, but for some reason he was going to stay. Huh, maybe Dodger was starting to change a bit but she didn't get her hopes up. Sarafina knew things would change once they got Ravi home and into the crib, and school would be starting soon. Sarafina decided to not try out for any sports this year since she had a baby to take care of and she didn't want to miss Ravi growing up, and plus she was a senior this year witch meant that this was her last year and she would be done with high school. A giggle escaped Sarafina as he did a quote from a movie, leave it Dodger to do a movie quote at a time like this well at least he was in his normal Dodger mood.
"Oh my god, it's much worse." She look up at Dodger as he continue to hold Dodger, maybe Dodger didn't see it but Sarafina saw a father in Dodger that was just waiting to come out, in her heart Sarafina knew that Dodger would be a great father, following Dodger's gaze to the clock she looked back down at Ravi who's eyes were ride open shining in they're baby blue, slightly green color glory "Somebody's looking at you Dodger. She said with a smile as she continued to look at Ravi.
