Sage slowly made his way through Del Notre Park. He watched as kids ran out of their family minivans to the playground, smiles on their faces as their parents yelled for them to play safely. He watched as dog and owner played fetch. He watched as the old couples fed the ducks and the young couples pointed out that they would make it that far. Everyone had some sort of loved one in their life. Whether it was a significant other, a pet, or a child. Every person at this park was with someone whether they wanted to be or not all because they had someone they loved.
Everyone except Sage. He walked through the park with a gray cloud above his head. The son of Aphrodite made his way to the benches that faced the baseball field. He watched as some high school freshmen practiced for team try outs probably. A small smiled appeared on Sage's smile. He remembered when he spent hours at the ice rink practicing for hockey team try outs. Now that he was no longer in high school he really didn't know what else to do with himself. High school was his thing, his element. He was the king and he ruled. Everyone who was anyone knew who Sage Amato was. But now, Sage was nothing. Sure he was the heir of the Apple throne, but what did that even mean. He would still have to work his wake up from the bottom until his father passes away from cancer. However, in the process of gaining this position that he never really wanted in the first place, he had lost so many chances. His friends seemed to be growing more and more distant from him. His love life was nonexistent and he was the son of Aphrodite after all. His life consisted of nothing and he had no power to change it.
A baseball rolled towards his feet. Sage looked up at the kids that were waving their mitts around asking for him to throw the ball over. He picked up the ball and looked over the tall baseball fence and back at the kids that were giving him the weirdest looks. Sage dropped the ball and started walking away.

(ooc: Do you mind if Amy joins in? She needs more muse.)
BIC: The stick dug into the soft earth, creating curvy lines and a menagerie of crudely drawn rabbits. Amelia paused for a moment, lifting her stick out of the furrow it had just created, and gazed at her work. With a sigh, the daughter of Athena dropped her stick and got up.
Another dead end out of many. Another day, wasted away by finding clues that turned out to be just pieces of trash. Another day where Chicago Eastlyn was still held in bondage by her kidnapper.
Shoulders sagging, Amelia turned away from her art-work and trudged onward, not noticing the gloomy-looking boy a few feet ahead of her. Maybe I should give up on finding Chicago, she thought. What can I do the police can't?
She shook her head slowly. Can't think like that...Chicago has to be somewhere. I'm just not looking in all-
CRACK!
Amelia looked up. One of kid around her age (whose name shall not be mentioned has it has no name as this is freshman who randomly popped out of nowhere to the convenience of myself and others) had let loose his bat on a ball, sending it soaring out of the field. It landed a foot away from the baseball field's fence, bouncing over to the path. Once the baseball had made it halfway, it stopped its bouncing and began to roll, ending its journey at a young man's feet.
He picked it up, paused, and then dropped it, continuing on his way. A sudden feeling of indignation for the baseball players swelled up inside Amelia, causing her body to stiffen. Gnashing her teeth, the daughter of Athena stomped forward, letting out a loud snort as she passed the older boy.

Okay, Sage had to admit that he had pulled a super douche move. Typically he would have cared that the freshmen were all glaring at him with anger as they had to physically leave the field to get the ball themselves. However, Sage was in no typical mood. He hadn't been in a "normal" mood since well, he couldn't remember the last time that he felt happy. Heck, he couldn't remember the last time he felt normal. Being a demigod, the son of Aphrodite, kind of gave all hopes of being normal pointless.
A girl, she appeared young herself, maybe a sophomore or freshman, stomped passed him obviously angry. She wasn't playing baseball so he really saw no reason why she should be angry. Sure he had acted like a jerk, but he wasn't being a jerk to her so it was none of her concern really. He stopped in his tracks to stare at her. He wasn't angry just...curious.

(ooc: Oh, no! It's a good post :3 )
The hairs on the back of Amelia's neck jolted up, as a pair of eyes drove into her back. She halted, her eyes darting to and fro. Her muscles tensed, ready for anything.
Amelia turned around, her eyes locking with that rude boy immediately. She stared back at him, not moving a muscle, not making a sound for a few heart-beats. The daughter of Athena fidgeted, her left eyebrow raised. Crossing her arms over her chest, Amelia broke the silence. "Yes?"

Sage was slightly taken aback by the harsh tone to the young girl's voice. He wasn't angry before but now his mood had changed. He was just done with people talking to him like everything was his fault. Like every thing bad in the world was because of something that he did. Yes, he already admitted to himself that he was a screw up and a good for nothing, but he didn't need other people reminding him of that small fact constantly, especially not some random hormonal teenage girl.
Everything about Sage changed. His hands turned into fists, his eyes shifted from vacant to on fire, the vein in his throat slightly pulsed. Sage tried to talk but all he could think of to say was "fuck off bitch" and he honestly didn't want to piss this girl off more than she was already though she had no reason to be angry at him. "I'm pretty sure you were the one glaring at me. Obviously you're the one with the problem here." Sage pursed his lips to keep from talking any more and waited for a response.

It wasn't what he had said that surprised Amelia, but how he looked: his infuriated eyes and his balled fists, seemingly ready to put a large dent in her face, made the freshman wonder if it was a good idea to turn and walk away.
That would be a coward's way out, though, Amelia thought, furrowing her brow. She took a step forward, uncrossing her arms and rolling her hands into fists, just as the rude person before her had.
"I've got plenty of problems," Amelia admitted, Chicago's face flashing in her mind, "But at least I know how to be courteous."

What was it about this girl that annoyed Sage to no end? She was obviously irritated by him, but she really had no reason to be and that just angered him. Now she was stepping forward like she was ready to fight him at any second. Sage usually had that unspoken rule that most men had: no hitting girls, but Sage was beyond caring about...well, anything. He could strangle this girl right now and feel absolutely nothing. Heck, he might even feel better. A shiver ran through his body. "No..you're the son of Aphrodite, not Ares.".
Sage scoffed, almost amused. "You're seriously irritated because I wasn't being 'courteous.' I don't know what fantasy world you live in, but you might want to start growing up soon. The world isn't courteous and if you ever want to survive, you'll learn that now." Sage shook his head still annoyed that he was bothering to even speak to this girl.

Amelia wrinkled her nose in irritation, his words only increasing the stubborn fire raging within her rather than subduing it. Narrowing her eyes at him, Amelia grumbled, "And how is being a bit of an a**-" She stopped talking for a moment, surprised by her choice of words. Amelia thought about it for a moment, soon coming to the conclusion that such word usage would help her get her point across, and continued: "-helping you so far in your fight for survival?" She ended the sentence with a dramatic relish.
Only recently had Amelia found the "orator within her". In the past, the young girl would have ended such an argument as this with a slight bow of the head and an anticlimactic "Okay", but now, with the aid of aging and the pressure put on by Chicago's (alleged) kidnapping, the daughter of Athena had found herself antagonizing fellows more than once.

"It's been working wonderfully. Thank you for your concern." Sage's voice dripped with sarcasm and he rolled his eyes. She had called him an ass and that definitely wasn't the first time he had been called one and it probably wouldn't be the last. However, Sage was in such an emotionally raw state recently that every little put down made him bleed. With his relationship with Semper on the rocks, Tam being pregnant with Semp's kid, and Chicago being...well in the situation that she was, he really couldn't handle it all.
"Why don't you just go on and live in your perfect little life and leave me alone, okay? You can't change everyone and the sooner you realize that the better off you are." Sage tried to force a smile but it came out as a rude smirk. He really had lost control of all his emotions.

(ooc: I'm sorry for the wait!! D: )
BIC: Amelia took his sarcasm and suggestions with a face of annoyance and indignation. Stupid pessimist thinks he's got the world pinned down, she thought, shoving a pair of trembling fists into her pockets.
She sucked in a shaky breath. "I'm not talking to you because I'm on some crusade," Amelia grumbled. She imagined Sage's body contorting, taking a new shape, becoming taller, until Sage Amato had miraculously transformed into Semper. "I'm just sick of angry people taking their frustration on others, and then patting themselves on the back for it!"
Amelia narrowed her eyes at Semper-Sage, leaning in. What made you take her, Capone? she thought, and then continued her tirade out loud, "Get on drugs? Steal a few cars? Mommy and Daddy didn't like you much, so they smacked you around? Well, you can just curl up into a ball and cry and whine all you want to, just stop making the people around you suffer."
She choked a little, as Sage-Semper and the park turned into a dark, cold basement, with her dear friend strapped to a chair. Amelia squeezed her eyes tight, fighting the nightmare out of her brain. Go away go away go away...She'll be fine...She'll be fine!
"Chicago..." Amelia mumbled under her breath. She opened her eyes, and was almost blinded by the sun's rays. She looked at Sage (in his true form) with confusion, as if he had just fallen out of the sky.
Her confusion left as suddenly as it came. "Unless you think that not throwing a baseball is gonna conserve your energy for the hunt, I think you're doing it wrong," she said bluntly, as if nothing had happened. "Surviving, that is."
