The pup yelped in pain. His tiny brothers and sisters - all of them pugs - cowered in a corner of their kennel, awaiting their turn for Rosy-Mae's cruel nail file.
The nail file was something Rosy-Mae liked to keep on hand, in case her air-headed adoptive parents dragged her to some place stupid for some useless reason. Today, the useless reason was of highest importance to them: they were going to get their pesky Chihuahua, Chummy-LEE, a mate.
According to her new family, Chummy-LEE seemed to have gotten mopey lately, and sometimes her adoptive mother could hear him howling in the night, urging a female dog to come and end his lonely life. Rosy-Mae snorted. Of course a beach-bum like her would think that. In reality, Chummy-LEE was crying out that night because Rosy-Mae thought it would be funny to hang him by the back paws to her ceiling fan.
Rosy-Mae wriggled the nail file tip from the pug's pad. The dog began to howl. With a snort, the daughter of Thanatos flung it into its kennel, and closed the door. "Wimp," Rosy-Mae snorted in disgust, as she wiped her slightly blooded nail file on her black T-shirt. "I didn't even stick it in that far."
The puppies began to relax. They swarmed around their wounded brother, sniffing him. Rosy-Mae's victim let out a low whine, as one of his sisters inspected his bleeding paw.
Rosy-Mae glared at him. "Are you going to whimper and cry when my father drags you down to the Underworld, are you going to be a cur and deal with it, you pathetic-" She stopped herself. Rosy-Mae shook her head. "I'm talking to a dog," the daughter of Thanatos mumbled. Without another glance at the puppies, Rosy-Mae headed out of the kennel room of Friendly Paws Animal Shelter.
Outside, dogs had bee forced into cages made of chicken-wire, looking with confused wonder as humans watched them, sizing their levels of obedience and cuteness like a butcher sizes up a pig's weight and health before slitting it's throat. She grimaced in disgust when she spotted her adopted parents and little brother coo at a poodle.
She paused, and let her eyes roam the prison of domesticated animals, forced into slavery and entertainment of the foul human race. Rosy-Mae scrunched up her nose at the whining, pathetic creatures. As they looked at her with pleading eyes, she began to wonder if the weakling deserved their cell.
The daughter of Thanatos slowly shook her head. "This place is a second Hell to the already damned and a place of euphoria for the demons," she grunted.
(ooc: Excuse me for the curse word.
And I really shouldn't be putting this up...but I want to, dang it! D: )
