Lily stared at what used to be her car. Her beautiful, silver volkswagon beatle had been reduced to a beat up hunk of metal. It had been parked outside the library when a large truck lost control, and slammed into it. Lily had been about to open her door when hte truck spun towards her, and had barely made it out of the way in time. She had escaped with nothing more than a few scratches, and a banged up wrist. The paramedic had told her to get it looked at, but she had other problems. Actually, he had told her to get in the ambulance to go to the hospital, but she had convinced him she was fine. Her car was another matter. The mechanic had said the only place it belonged now was the junkyard.
Sighing, she exited the building, sick of staring at her car. She had to have another car, but money didn't grow on trees. Of course, she could have always asked her parents, but she'd have to be living in box in an alley before she'd do that. She had to prove to them that she could take care of herself. She was a daughter of Athena after all. She could figure something out.
But what was she going to do short-term? With the money in the bank, and her job, she could get a used car, and save up for another beatle, but she needed one right now. Not to mention her wrist was starting to really hurt, and her knee was aching too. She needed to see a docter, but that would have to wait. She had to get another car. And it just so happened, that she was a day late paying her insurance, so the accident wouldn't be covered. Sitting on the curb, she racked her brain for ideas of what to do. At the moment, she didn't even have a way to get back to her dorm. And there was no way her knee would take all the walking.
