Ever since Chicago Eastlyn departed Amelia's world in a physical sense, the up-and-coming freshman seemed to have departed the social world at the same time. She didn't visit her old middle school friends, nor did she try to strike up conversation with her father during meal-times (a bit of a tradition in the Rodgers clan). In fact, the only time Professor Rodgers ever saw his daughter was when she was hurrying out the door, some serious, determined look on her face and sometimes mumbling to herself, "I'll find you, Chicago. You can count on me!" But now, in an effort to draw Amelia out of her shell, Professor Rodgers was taking her out on a trip the daughter of Athena had been looking forward to ever since she was twelve: she was getting a cell phone.
The idea worked. Amelia began to converse to her father in that babbling fashion of younger teens the moment they stepped into the car. By the time they were nearing the Apple Store, Amelia had broken into a run and was through the door in a matter of seconds.
Amelia paused at the threshold, her brown eyes wandering shelves upon shelves of iPhones. She let out a small laugh. "Wow."
(ooc: Oh snap this post is bad. Dx Please excuse the typos. I was sort of in a rush.)

Lily was browsing through the ipods, tryimg to decide which one to get. Her current one was old, and she had decided to upgrade. Bouncing up and down on the balls of her heels, she tried to decide. Finally, she picked up the ipod touch. It looked really cool, and easy to use. Plus, she could ut apps on it. Next,.she scanned the the rack of cases. For a moment, she almost decided not to get one yet, but then a certain case caught her eye. It was a silver with an owl engraved on the back. Her mother's symbol. She grabbed it, the juggled both the case and her ipod as she grabbed her iphone which had rung to let her know she had a text. It was from her sister, Hannah.
She sent a quick reply, then glanced over as the door opened. It was a young girl girl with what looked like her father. A daughter of Athena too, Lily could tell. Slipping her phone into her back pocket, she walked over. "Cool right? I'd suggest this one if you're having trouble deciding. I have it, and it works great. Name's Lily by the way." She said with a smile, then pointed out one of the models.

Amelia's eyes flickered with surprise when a girl walked over, introducing herself as Lily. A sudden unease swelled up within the fourteen-year-old, making her hesitate before replying, "R-really?"
Amelia squeezed her left hand as if it were a sponge. For awhile now, she had been bold enough to question a (in her opinion) kidnapping suspect, smack out haughty remarks with a mortal, but now her tongue seemed to have twisted itself into a double-knot. She swallowed down a lump in her throat. "I'm Amelia," the daughter of Athena said, "Nice to meet you."
She looked over at the model Lily had pointed out. "What does it do, exactly?" Amelia asked, eying the phone.

Lily leaned over and whispered something in her ear, pretending to check her shoe. "I'm Athena too." She straightened back up. "Everything basically. You can put apps and songs on it. It texts easily, and you get wifi. And its got a really long battery life."

Upon further inspection of Lily's face, Amelia realized that there was just something about the older girl that rang a bell inside her head. Amelia cocked her head to the side a little, trying to figure it out, but she just couldn't figure it out.
Then Lily leaned in, supposedly checking her shoe, and whispered, "I'm Athena too."
Amelia jolted slightly, and her eyes widened. This was the first time in her life that she had met one of her half-siblings, something she had been looking forward to ever since she graduated from middle school. But here she stood, surrounded by cell-phones and other forms of modern technology, face-to-face with another one of Athena's daughters.
In a moment's notice, Amelia's face became one of perkiness. "Neat!" The door made a bell-like sound as her father stepped into the store. "I've always wanted to play Frustrated Fowls."
She turned her body slightly to the right, where the phones inside orange-and-white boxes were stashed. Amelia then leaned in, and said in small whisper, "Sorry I didn't see it before. I assume you're going to Richmond, so what grade are you in? Tenth?"
(ooc: I apologize for the Angry Birds pun.)

(sorry, been sick)Lily smiled and nodded, then glanced up as the door to the store opened. Seeing who she assumed was just another customer, she turned back to Amelia. "Yeah, I'm a sophomore. You're....9th?"She guessed, lowering her voice a little. (lazy...)

(ooc: No worries. )
"I will be, soon." Amelia eyed the iPhones, studying the gifts of technology with a careful eye.
"What's Richmond like, Lily?" she inquired. "Are the teachers good? How many catty girls are there? Number of bullies? What's the average teenage pregnancy rate-" She stopped herself. "Oh...uh, sorry, didn't mean to say that." Her cheeks turned into a light shade of red.
Amelia grabbed an orange box with a picture of a cell phone on its front, and held it close to her. Butterflies flitted about her stomach restlessly, as if the lack of flowers in her belly was making them frustrated. How did they get in there in the first place.
How'd they get in there, anyway? She closed her eyes and imagined butterflies drifting from place to place inside her body, pollinating her blood cells, and laying their eggs on her large intestine. Caterpillars crawled from their birth-organ, making their way to her liver, where they turned themselves into crystallines, thus continuing the cycle.
Her imagination roamed up to her brain, but instead of a mash of what appeared to be pink noodles she found a high school, where her gray-matter were the students. Amelia frowned. Maybe it's because I've met a sister, or...
Slowly, the daughter of Athena opened her eyes. "Sorry," she repeated. "I'm nervous about high school."
