On a trail to nowhere (open)

He knew night would come soon, and that he should probably be in his dorm by now, but he wanted to.. no needed to get away from the school and the drama that now overcame. It was either stay in his dorm or go out on a trail ride with his horse, and to him the trail ride seemed a lot nicer. He stood in front of his horse and didn't speak the horse new the mood he was in and nudged Xolek with his giant head "I'm sorry Zyre it's nothing" but he knew the horse was not convinced he patted the horses side and they ran down to the barn entrance while Xolek held onto his reins. When they'd gotten outside he hesitated before slamming the barn door with all his might, not meaning to slam it to hard that the animals inside would be startled but they seemed not to be.

He took his time to walk down past the small sanded paddock and into the meadow before getting onto Zyre, when he'd settled in the horses saddle it took off as fast as he could. He stayed low to the horses back until they'd gotten into the forest trail, the horse slowed to a trot. Xolek peered behind the forest seemed to in-close then but he knew this was not the case. Horse and rider trotted along the trail in utter silence listening to the animals around them. Bird chirped and sang but over time owls joined in. From a distance he could see a very small pond up ahead and he'd knew that they'd rode for some time.

He directed the horse from left to right as hte turns came until the pond was directly to his right side, he horse stopped and he got off. He made the horse go where he went to a small cleared area beside a tree that looked like it was trying to reach for the water, or was lumping over. These where his favorite trees of all. They where simple beautiful and for the slightest moment he'd forgotten of the drama at school. Sitting the horse layed beside him and silently began to graze at a batch of grass nearby. He put his back and head to the horse. He wanted to stay here but he'd knew eventually he'd have to go back.

Sarafina leaned closer to the horse as they went under a tree branch that was arched right over the trail, Rio snorted as he felt his rider lean closer to him, he shook his head as he smelled the fresh air. Sarafina had neglected Rio for far too long, having him be in a stall for a few days because it wsa the end of the school year and she more busy then ever with finals. Sarafina clicked her tongue asking for a trot, Rio responded by picking his feet up off the ground at a faster pace.

It was then Rio halted, pricked his ears forward holding his head high as if seeing something coming at him, Rio let out a whinny shaking his head up and down catching a familiar scent. Rio started to head off the trail, Sarafina pulled back on the lead line, being to lazy and eager to go on a trail ride to put tack on she basically just used Rio's halter as a bridle and a bareback bad was all she needed for this trail ride. Sarafina turned him back on the trail, not wanting to take any chances of getting lost in the woods and unmarked trails.

Rio went back to trotting on the trail, Sarafina made a kissing noise Rio nickered with joy as he went into a canter enjoying the breeze that he was now feeling afterall being an Arabian he was built to run on rough terrain. Sarafina put the lead line in one hand the other on Rio's neck as he cantered on the trail, Sarafina knew there was a pond coming up in soon. Rio went a bit faster, Sarafina turned him towards a pond seeing a horse and rider relaxing by the pond she pulled on the lead line, Rio halted as if stopping on the dime, feeling his back legs go under him a little bit but then stood still, his ears forward looking at the two, "Hey Xolek, how are you doing?" She asked as she dismounted Rio, letting him graze on the grass.

The horse grazed in his beauty and Xolek watched every once and awhile hte horse would perk his earsup and turn to Xolek as if annoyed by all the attention but that wasn't the case he was a huge attention hogger. Once he'd finished his lazy attempt at eating the grass Zyre turned to look at Xolek again stretching his strong neck out Xolek began to pet and stroke him. Now grown up he looked a lot more like his breed was suppose to be, with feathers hiding his hooves and a strong muscular appearance it was obvious he was a Byelorussian Harness Horse if you knew anything about horses at all.

"Sorry about recently Zyre, I'm just kinda stressed... you must be to eh? I mean moving all the way from Norway with me to here.. hows the horses in the barn treating you?" he talked to Zyre as if he would reply but this wasn't the case. Zyre stirred attempting to get up first lifting his back legs then his front he lowered his head down to Xolek and helped him up to before looking at an oncoming horse and it's rider who he noticed as Sarafina. They'd had plans awhile ago to go on the trail together but they seemed to just slide away all of a sudden.

"Hey Sarafina I'm pretty good just decided to clear my mind by coming out here, there seems to be a lot of drama, and then finals coming up.. Gosh it's hard, so what about you?" he said letting go of Zyre's reins he took to being interested in the other horse and he stepped forward to get the attention of it.
