Demeter slowly walked out from behind the tree. It was daylight and kids were swinging on the swing and running around laughing and playing. It was so good to see the childrens happy faces. Being in Olympus kept you from seeing the wonders of the human world. She saw a few mortals staring at her in wonder. Even though she was in her human form she was still extremely beautiful looking to humans.
Demeter smiled as a small red ball rolled towards her feet and a child with long brown hair came rushing towards it, nearly colliding with her. She smiled at the little girl and picked up the ball and handed it to her. The child said a quick thank you and then rushed away.
Demeter slowly walked away from the park and headed in the direction of Richmond High, where people would know her as Darla Harmon, her new human name, instead of Demeter.
