The sun set across the lake as the gentle and quiet waves rolled in and out slowly.. Ivory stepped from her black crappy old pick-up truck and walked down the beach. She wore her swim suit with a wrap around her and a pair of old flipflops.
Quietly she slipped off her flip flops and closed her eyes briefly feeing the sand under her feet.. So cold and soft.. wipeing away the last of her tears she looked around and spotted a bench.
After a moment she pulled out a ciggrette and lit it sitting on then bench and watching the sun set completely. A light smile crossed her pale face.. it had been years since she'd sat to watch the sun set.. It was beautiful..
It seemed to be the one thing that time never touched..
Glancing at her phone she sighed as she re-read her own text for the fourth billion time... was she too harsh?
'If you really mean that'
Was she too pushy?

It osunded stupid but Xolek made Zyre go faster, not pushing the semi-old horse when he was close enough to the lake he got off and tied Zyre to a post patting his side and feeding him some apples he told the horse to wait with a calm voice and ran off towards the beach, when he got close he took his shoes off and felt the sand beneath his feet, standing there for a few minutes he continued to walk.
after a few minutes he could see a familiar figure ahead of him. She was sitting on a bench, he smiled and looked down before walking closer "Ivory? I'm so sorry" he sat beside her and smiled looking where she looked at the sunset that had begun.

"It's okay, It's my fault-" she looked at him "I expected too much" she batted her eyelashes as her skin turned amber in the light of the sunset. She was glowing a tiny bit but part of her was probably still a little hurt because she was not as bright as she had been earlier. Ivory looked at her phone shyly then looked at him.
Her lip gloss glittered in the sunset's light along with her skin and eyes as she looked at him unsure of what to say..

Xolek continued to look out into pretty much nothing except the sunset. It always awed him "That's not true Ivory.. I've been a jerk recently, I can't say why.. but I have" he said looking down at his feet when he confessed something "It's just.. I'm stuck.. you know?" he looked at her and smiled, before looking away again to the sunset over the horizon "You know.. I never learned to swim, it's a shame.. but it's true, remember when I was pushed into the swimming pool by mistake in grade 3?" he signed, it had been a bad year for him.
"The only two that know this is you and Fransisco.. it's a secret to everyone else.. because I'm afraid they'll laugh" he had a fear of big depths of water, for he feared it would cause his death one day in the end.

Ivory touched his leg and looked at him trying to get him to look her in the eyes. "I remember... You scared me half to death" she said quietly watching him.
"I loved you even then" she looked at the sunset then back at him 'I know it must sound stupid-- but I've never loved anyone else-- I can't explain why.." she looked at her lap. "I tried to forget that I ever knew you... But it didn't work.. I'm too desprite..." she looked away at the sunset again.
The sun got lower and lower by the second.
