Getting Down and Dirty *Open*

Chicago had been going out of her mind almost the last week or so. Semper had read her journal which got her rapes out in the open between them, her dad was coming to town anyday now, she had had a fight with Sarafina, her brother had come back to town and she hadnt seen him yet, and the memories that had surfaced due to Sarafinas almost rape still wouldnt leave her alone, much to her disgust.

Remembering that she had planned to enter Alejandro in the car show coming up, with Hayley and others, Chicago decided that in an attempt to clear her head, she'd take her car to her dad's new house and park it in the driveway and have a look under the hood, then wash it. After that, she could go inside and start getting the house ready for her dads arrival. Changing into some bathers and throwing some shorts over the top, plus a hat, her Cons and her trademark RayBans of course, Chicago left her dorm and proceeded down to the car park to take Alejandro over to the other side of town.

Chicago had arrived at her dads new place without a hitch about fifteen minutes ago, and had gone inside to have a look around again before getting started on her car. Walking back out to the driveway, the girl popped her earbuds in her ears and turned her iPod up, tucking it down her bather top for now, seeing as she had nowhere else to put it, then opened Alejandro up and proceeded to tinker away. Most people didnt know that she knew enough about cars to fiddle around like this, but her dad was a mechanic by trade, and had taught her how to do a few things also...

It had been so long since I was last in Richmond. Everything seemed as though it had changed, but maybe that was because I had changed. I don't know.

It felt weird being the oldest of the group. Dodger and Kaleb were just now finishing up school while I had just come back from basic, all hardened and not as weak-willed anymore. But that didn't mean I had completely changed. I still enjoyed all the things I used to, but I just looked at it all with a much different perspective.

I had gotten a small, run-down apartment spot downtown, but at least I had some form of shelter. I didn't mind that it was almost falling apart. But now I was meandering down the streets I used to know ((the Fray! <3 though the last word is roam XD )) so well, trying to figure out what was d-- hold the phone! Is that who I think it is?

I saw Chicago working on a car with her back to where I was, so that was good. I crept across the street, trying to keep my dog tags from jingling, sneaking up behind her and engulfing her in a massive and tight bear hug. "Chicago! It's been so long."

Chicago was off in her own world, singing along to random songs, grease covering her fingers, and she knew she had a streak of oil on one of her cheeks somewhere. Screwing the cap back on something she couldnt recall the name of right now, she gave a content smile as she looked around the engine for the next thing to check/fiddle with.

She was about to pick up the spanner for something when she felt a pair of big, strong arm wrap around her waist. She panicked momentarily as her brain realised that they werent Sempers arms, and quite frankly, she was freaked out and let out with a little squeal. Forcing herself to think, Chicago remembered that it could be Kaleb or Dodger, which calmed her abit. When the person spoke but, all comforting thoughts left her brain, as none of her friends sounded like that, even though the voice did sound vaguely familiar. Managing to keep her cool for a second she managed to spin around in the embrace. Seeing her old friend John, Chicago was ecstatic. "HOLY SHIT! JOHNNY!!!!! How are you?!?!" she gave a little laugh, "You almost wore a spanner on your nose man!" She wrapped her arms around him as best as she could in a tight embrace.

I hadn't seen Shorty in forever, so it's understandable that she spazzed whenever I got a hold of her. Her squeal caused me to laugh, which probably wasn't a good thing, considering that she had a spanner in her hand.

"Yeah, I'd rather not be wearing a spanner, thank you." I said, snickering. "I'm good, I'm good. Can't tell you how glad I am to be back home. And what've you been up to all this time?" I kept my arms around her as she returned the hug, but I spun around in circles just to make things more exciting and dizzying. "And what're you doing all the way out here? Did you break down here? Oh wait not, you got a house, didn't you? You've got a helluva lot nicer one than I got downtown, but hey, it's a roof over my head."

Beaver was one of her closest friends, but she hadnt seen him, or heard from him in ages. She pouted as he laughed at her squeal no doubt.

"Yeah, its not funny. I'd rather not be responsible for ruining your face." Chicago said, trying to be serious but failing epically. She dropped the spanner on the grass so it wasnt a safety hazard anymore. "Thats great! Yeah, I can imagine. Have you seen the boys yet?" she asked, talking about Dodger and Kaleb. He'd know what she was talking about. They were good like that. Shorty and Beaver, full of inside jokes, reading eachothers minds. It was funny but, coz she didnt actually think that Kaleb and Dodge knew that John and Chcago knew eachother. That'll make for some good fun later on ((insert evil grin here XD ))

Chicago laughed as her friend spun her around in circles. She caught a glimpse of his shiny dogtags. "oh hey! These are cool. They're about as shiny as my ring...Oh my god, my ring! I'm getting married!!" She said, voice full of excitement as she turned her left hand around and held it in front of his face so he could inspect her engagement ring. "Oh, this isnt my place, im still at the school. This is my dads new place. He's moving here from Michigan so he could be closer. He's not arriving for a couple more days but, so I thought i'd come over and set some stuff up and fiddle around with Alejandro for abit here in the driveway. But I like talking to you more." she said with a kind smile, then wrapped him in another tight hug "Missed you Beaver."

I couldn't help but snicker at the thought of Chicago being responsable for a spanner in my face. She just didn't seem like the kind of person that would impale another person's face. "No, I haven't seen them. I just got back into town from basic." I answered. "Basic is hell. You should go somet--"

Hold the phone! What did she just say?!

"You're WHAT?!" I cried in disbelief, gawking at her until she raised her hand in front of my face so I could see the ring. Well I'll be damned, she really was getting married. "HOLY SHIT! Since when've you been engaged?! Why did I not know about this earlier! I need to know when my Shorty is getting married! This is such an important event! Who are you marrying?! Is it Kaleb? He always seemed to be a bit into you. Gah! I'm sorry, I'm talking too much." It's not everyday one of your best friends tells you they're getting married! This was just getting me all hyped up and I hadn't even been home for a day.

"Your dad's house, eh? Aha, that's awesome. I gotta meet him." I hugged her back tightly. "I missed you too, Shawty."
