Elijah isn't one to usually be considered smart. Not that he was stupid or anything, he was just a regular, slightly below average kid. I guess he never really had the passion to exceed in academics. His parents supported him through mostly everything, besides his tattoos, so when he focused on his arts, they were okay with that. Elijah being in the library wasn't usually something someone would have seen, especially if they were a regular. However, Eli wanted to get more of an education in art. He wasn't rich even though he was the manager of the auto shop so there was no way he could put himself through art school. His education was in the books he saw and the raw talent that he had. Elijah fingered the spines of the books looking through the pages of color and sketch.

Paige was walking through the isles of the library bored. She had read all the books worth reading and she didn't feel like studying, her grades were doing well and she didn't feel the need to study not that she would have if her grades were horrible either but she liked the library it was just a quiet place to sit and get away from all the annoyances of the dorms she scanned the isles her eyes landing on Elijah she looked at him for a moment before she turned back to the shelves pulling out Edgar Allen Poe book, one of her favorites

Elijah eyed the girl that stood next to him. The art shelves ended were the poetry shelves started and she was picking up a book on Edgar Allan Poe it seemed. Eli was never big on poetry, mostly because he thought it was the most confusing thing in the world. But he did enjoy Poe since he had many short stories that made perfect sense to him. He actually had this whole theory as to how Edgar Allan Poe died and why. Elijah closed his book and took a step towards the girl. "Have you ever read 'The Cask of Amontillado?' It's a really great short story by Poe."

Paige slowly took another book of the shelf holding a small pile in her arms. She could feel the unnamed boys eyes on her and opened her mouth to spit out some nasty comment as he spoke. The fierce, annoyed look that had been on her face only seconds ago softened but she still didn't have a smile on her face. She studied him her grey eyes burning into him. "Not yet" she said, it was actually one of the books she had in her hands. She was surprised he had approached her most were detoured by her mean looking appearance. Her eyes drifted back down to the pile of books she was holding before stepping slightly to face the boy. Paige, ironically, loved poetry more often than not the darker side of poetry but still poetry. She understood it perfectly, she often found multiple meanings to ones words and had spent hours dissecting the meanings of poetry books on the deepest level. She isn't two faced, or have a split personality she just has very drastic sides to her self. She can be incredibly cruel and rude to one person but can be the most loving sweetest girl to another. She was picky with who she liked and who she didn't, she either liked you or hated you one of the many conflicting parts on her personality.

Eli flashed the girl a soft smile and walked a bit closer feeling as if it was okay to approach her. She didn't show any sign of wanting to stab him...Okay, so what she didn't smile at him and sure she only said two words to him, but that didn't mean she was going to verbal slash him in half if he decided he wanted to talk poetry to this girl. He took a quick look at her up and down and figured that she was probably a high school student. Eli always felt...awkward befriending high school students, especially if they were girls. He just assumed everyone thought he was some creeper because he was already out of high school, but he was only twenty! "Oh, it's absolutely wonderful. The irony of the story gets me every time. Poe is just brilliant! He thinks of everything even down to the character's names."
