Mimi sighed as she walked down the road to the hospital. She wasn't the one who was hurt or else she would have just gone to the nurse since she was closer there then to the hospital. She put her hands in her pocket in her hoodie, as well as put her hood on, and looked at her shoes while walking down the broken sidewalk. She shouldn't of left her alone without any of her brothers there. She knew what happened when she did. When Bryce came home, he saw her lying on the floor with the bottle in her hand. She began to feel the crying coming on. She wiped it away with on of her sleeves. Next, the twins came home. Cain and Dion came next, asking Bryce what had happened. He said he didn't know and that he could find Mimi anywhere around the house. She was gone away, at the gas station, just trying to pick something up for the two of them to drink. The next moment, she got a call from Cain, telling her to go to the hospital right away, for she was at it again.
Mimi felt like this was all her fault, leaving the women there all alone with no one to watch her. She tightened her hood so that the sun wouldn't hit her face and the tears began to fall. Ever since Leon got busted for drugs, nothing ever stayed the same of course. How he got passed French security was beyond all of them, but right as they got checked by the Americans, he got caught with tons of the stuff. Ranging from prescription drugs to illeagal drugs. It was frigtening for her being only fourteen and to see this happen to her father. She sighed and imagined him. Dark blond hair, green eyes, tan. She visited him often to give him updates on how the family was doing because everyone else refused to visit him. She was so young and she didn't want to be disconnected from her father.
Then she imagined her on the floor of the house. Why did she have to go to the gas station? She could have waited until one of her brothers got home to run a few blocks down. It wasn't going to kill her to wait a few minutes. She was soon at the hospital and scanned the parking lot. The three cars were there alright. She was going to get yelled at by Bryce, him being the oldest and all. She took a deep breath and wiped her face of any tear marks as she walked in the building. Just like she thought, the three older siblings were sitting in the waiting area to hear news of her. And just as she thought, Bryce came up to comfront her, "Que pensiez-vous! Laissant la mère seule à la maison quand on sait qu'elle a été déprimé!"* She looked down at her shoes, trying not to cry. "Je suis désolé Bryce. Je ne pense pas que d'être parti pour trois minutes serait aussi nuisible pour elle."*
Bryce just shook his head and went back to sit on the green bench, waiting for news. Then Dion came up and handed her a few bucks, "Aller chercher quelque chose à grignoter ou de boire. Il veut bien, vous savez que."* She nodded as she took the cash. She walked away from the three brothers without looking back. She headed to the cafeteria to just sit at a table to think about everything, to take it all in.
Her mother. She had been a psychological mess since her father had been thrown in jail. It wasn't so bad the first few months, but once she began her sophomore year of high school, it all began. Her mother began to overdose on medicine, trying to commit suicide. Her depression had been getting better, but it all hit her at once. Her mother. Her sweet, sensitive, got-it-together women, came crashing down within one day. That's the day that the four of them decided to take turns making sure their mother didn't do anything. No one had slipped up until this awful mistake.
She walked into the cafeteria and just grabbed a chocolate bar and a mountain dew. Yeah, that was healthy. She went and sat down at an empty table, not that they all weren't empty basically. She popped open the drink and took a big gulp of it. She put it back on and laid her head down on the table. This was going to be a long weekend.
*Translation:What were you thinking! Leaving mother at the house alone when you know she's been depressed! - I'm sorry Bryce. I didn't think that being gone for three minutes would be so harmful to her. - Go get something to snack on or drink. He means well, you know that.
