Sarafina looked at the church as she pulled into the driveway, today was the big day. The day she would be marring Dodger Moore, the guy of her dreams it was about twelve in the afternoon, and with her hair and nails done she was ready but slightly nervous of course. She walked into the chapel, before going to one of the rooms in the back, when she walked in the first thing she saw was her wedding dress it took her a while to find the right dress, but with her made of honor, Hayley Fox by her side it was a small problem that was in the fix in a second. Nobody was here yet, so she waited for a little bit, then she saw her aunt come in, after a little talking, they started to but the dress on. Sarafina couldn't help but feel a bit nervous, weren't people always suppose to feel nervous on the day of their wedding, "Sarafina.. Her aunt Josie said, Sarafina looked over to her, This was your mom's on her wedding day. She would love for you to wear it on your wedding day. Josie, said smiling as she put the comb in Sarafina's hair. Sarafina couldn't help but smile, "Thank you.

It was ten-thirty in the morning, and when he should have been on his way to the church...he was asleep. As hard as he tried to think of a decent excuse for this, the fact of the matter was he had none. Ever since he ran over his phone, the only alarm he had was the cheap alarm he bought from a gas station. In the process of searching the floor for his phone, he managed to roll right off the covers and right onto his wooden floors. Dodger jumped to his feet with the reaction time of a cat on speed. "I'm late...of all people...I'm late to my OWN freaking wedding!" But if anyone would be so kind as to make a grand late entrance to their own wedding, it would be him. Naturally he'd be rambling out expletives, but he made a bet with Hayley that he could give up cursing for an entire month for a few free snow cones.
Kaleb was going to kick his ass. But that wasn't the worst that could happen to him. A pissed off Sarafina might not seem like a force to be reckoned with...but she was. Since his tux had already been sent to the church, he tossed on a pair of jeans and an old shirt and grabbed his car keys from the night stand. "Wish me luck, Marv." He needed every ounce of good luck he could get. Kaleb had already blown up his inbox with a cluster of texts that all had the same message. If you don't get your punk ass up here, I am going to kick it back to Texas. He didn't need to be told twice.
Speeding out of the driveway like a stuntman reject from The Fast and the Furious, Dodger pushed his car just about as fast as it could go. With a sharp turn to the left and some serious braking, all he could smell was burnt rubber and gasoline. "Kaleb?" Maybe now was a good time to seriously consider finding a hiding spot.

Kaleb drove his BMW into the church parking lot that was already crowding with family members from both Sarafina and Dodger's family. He walked through the crowd of people, he walked into the groom's room, who was Dodger but didn't see him here. It took hours to find Dodger the right suit, and for now that suit was hanging up waiting to be worn by Dodger Moore. Kaleb looked at his watch, he was a bit early, usually family members came early to meet eachother since they didn't know eachother, so he decided to get dressed into his tuxedo. And he had to admit he looked good in it, Kaleb got the wedding ring and put it in his pocket. It was finally ten thirty, and where was Dodger?! He was late for his own wedding! Of course he would be late, it was Dodger Moore we were talking about here. Kaleb paced back and forth outside of the church texting and calling Dodger for him to get his ass over here, and fast. After a few more minutes he took his car keys out of his pocket and started to walk towards his BMW, it was then he heard the screeching of tires, and the smell of gasoline and rubber, Kaleb ran over to Dodger "You have got to be kidding me, late for your own wedding. Come on. Kaleb said before running inside opening the door into the groom's room, "Get your tuxedo on, i'll let them know that your here and getting ready. Kaleb said.

So today was the day that my half-sister was going to get married. She was going to be marrying Dodger What's-his-face Moore, and he was going to end up being my brother-in-law. Well damn, this seemed oddly nostalgic...
I rolled out of bed and hit the shower, being sure to scrub down as best I could, but even then I still smelled a hint of horses and alcohol. As much as I hated it, there wasn't anything I could do about it. But hey, at least I wasn't hungover -- or, I should say, as hungover as usual. I had had a small bit to drink last night, but I was careful to not have as much as I usually do, so this way I could at least think coherently. I had to walk Sassifrass down the isle, so I might as well not be staggering and tripping all over myself.
I didn't bother with shaving since Sassifrass liked the facial hair, and besides, I was too lazy to do anything about it anyway. I pulled on my tux, got my truck keys, and headed over to the church, parking in the lot and getting out.
As I headed up the stairs, I couldn't help but stop and look up at the massive, beautiful steeples. Only about a month ago, I would've been here with Chicago. She would've looked so beautiful in a white dress... the way her dark brown wavy hair naturally falls around her shoulders... her mesmerizing blue eyes.... It would've been me and her standing up by the alter, now Sarafina and Dodger. We would've taken each other's surname and put an end to all the shit we'd been through. I finally would have been able to live the rest of my life with the girl I loved for so long.
But that would never happen. Literally just about a week before our wedding, Chicago disappeared, and I was left with feeling like I'd been torn in half. To be so close to the greatest moment of my life and have it ripped away from me, I couldn't take it. She left no note, no word as to where she was going, and no word as to when -- or if -- she was coming back, so you could imagine how terrified I was when I realized that she was gone. But what's even more disturbing is the fact that I was starting to believe that the love of my life was dead.
I shook my head, chasing the thought away. No, not today. I wasn't going to ruin my sister's wedding by mourning over something that I didn't deserve. She was probably off with someone who could treat her a lot better than I -- the homeless, dirt poor country boy with an accent so thick you can hardly understand me -- ever could. Wherever she is, I hope she's happy.
Taking a shaky breath, I trudged up the stairs to the front door, opening the large wooden doors and entering, looking down the isle for a brief moment. The decorations were absolutely wonderful, and the cloth on the altar made me feel even more nostalgic. Even though I knew the Greek gods and goddesses existed, my dad still took me to a Catholic church every Sunday (and yet he still taught me about the Cherokee religion), so I grew up following their rules. I felt obligated to my dad to bow to the altar as I faced it, and so that's what I did. My head dipped down and I made the sign of the cross before straightening back up, sighing and turning around to go find where Sassifrass was.

When she heard Dodger was late she couldn't help but shrug and hang her head, "I knew that was gonna happen. She said to herself, then looked at her aunt Josie, "Men are always late to their weddings. She said with a small smile, "Sparkling Cider for you and wine for me. She said handing a glass of Sparkling Cider to Sarafina, they clanked their glasses together before drinking them. Sarafina looked around the room, it was so beautiful, the chapel was beautiful. But what she was really looking forward to was the after party since she would be able to meet Dodger's family, "I really wish your mother could be here, she would be so proud of you. Josie said putting a hand on her niece's shoulder, Sarafina gave her a small smile, "Yeah, me to."
Sarafina looked back at the mirror and when she saw a seven foot and one inch tall Semper Capone. She turned around in her seat with a smile on her face, she got up out of the chair walking over to Sempr, "I'm glad you could make it Semper. She said with a smile. It was a few months ago, that she found out Semper was her older half-brother but she never put the half in there, to her he was a full brother, a brother that she never had and one that she's always wanted, sure they had their moments when they were at eachother's throats but that was tough love. And there was nobody, absolutely nobody she would want giving her away today other then Semper, her best friend since she came to Richmond, who she soon got the brother and sister relationship with and soon they found out they were related.
"Aunt Josie, can I have the Boutonniere, please? She said looking at her aunt, who soon brought over a plastic container, Sarafina took the Boutonniere out handing the container back to her aunt, she started to put the Boutonniere on, "I'm glad you came Semper, I know it must be hard to be coming here since what has been going on. She said softly, looking up at him with a small reassuring smile.

Doing a burnout in your car while on your way to your own wedding? He could check that off his bucket list. He could only hope he wouldn't walk inside smelling like a mixture of rubber and dust. Not to mention his hair hadn't been combed yet and was an unruly dirty blonde mess. Dodger smirked at Kaleb as he rolled his eyes and told him to get his ass inside and throw on his tuxedo. "Of course I'd be late! What did you expect?" Not exactly the smartest thing to say..but he was infamous for his ridiculously snarky comments that weren't exactly the right things to say. He tossed Kaleb his keys and grabbed the tux from the clothes rack, and tossed on that tux as if his life depended on it. Had he been any later, Kaleb might have just gone ahead and shot him while he was ahead. The tux was a formal change of scenery for someone who was used to jeans and a shirt, but it was sure to slap a satisfied grin on Kaleb's face.
The tux was stiff and smelled...clean, but he couldn't help but notice how nice he actually looked when he cleaned himself up for once. He turned around just in time to see Kaleb coming in through the back door. "Uh...so exactly how late am I?"

Kaleb sighed when he heard Dodger's comment, Kaleb has known Dodger for a very long time and Kaleb was partly responsible for Dodger's snarky remarks but hey, Dodger had to inherit something from Kaleb right? I mean they've known eachother for years, but this girl. This one girl who was named Sarafina who Dodger had met when Sarafina went on vaction to Dallas, Texas, Dodger's hometown had slightly changed Dodger. Dodger was a saint now compared to what he was back then.
Kaleb remembered how Dodger was that rebellious teenager performing at theme parks,(mostly Six Flags) since he lived close to the park just to meet ends meet, one time Kaleb was making a road trip and visited Dodger's house and saw that Dodger had drank a whole bottle of Jack Daniels and it wasn't a while after that, Dodger had become an alcoholic then Sarafina came along and since Sarafina cared about him so much, he went to rehab only to get a relationship with Sarafina in return. Kaleb was proud of Dodger for not passing up to be with Sarafina, she was his "Guardian Angel" as he remembered how Dodger put it.
He walked into the groom's room to see Dodger standing there looking pretty good in that tux he was wearing except there was one problem, his hair, We need to do something with that wild, reckless, hair of yours.. Grabs his arm pulling him to the chair sitting him down forcefully since he knew how Dodger got when someone tried to mess with his hair except for Sarafina, Kaleb reached for his hairgel putting some in his hands, rubbing his hands together before running them through Dodger's hair.

Of course it was hard. Sarafina had no idea how hard it was for me to face something that disturbingly resembles what might have been; the future I could have had and the future I wanted more than anything. She knew nothing of this kind of loneliness and devastation. She doesn't know what it's like to have the Fates play tricks on you, making you feel like, for once, everything will turn out alright, but then it all goes to hell in a matter of seconds. She didn't have to wake up every day with the fact that Dodger was missing and more than likely dead. Sarafina had no idea how hard this was for me.
But I didn't let her see that inner turmoil. I put on a small, forced smile, avoiding eye contact with her as I looked down briefly. "Sometimes it's jus' best t' move on." I muttered, but of course I hadn't done that. Who could move on after a serious event like that? No one could... no one really moves on from anything. There's still that part of you that desperately clings to what little hope you have left, praying for things to go back to the way it had been before. But it won't. It won't ever be the same.
I looked back up at her with the same weak, forced smile. "'sides, I wouldn't miss m' own sister's weddin' for the world."

Before he realized what Kaleb was saying or had any time to react, he felt Kaleb's hands down on his shoulders and that put him right into a chair in front of the mirror. "Thanks, mom. Where would I be without you?" Dodger shrugged and decided to sit still for once in his life, and trusted that Kaleb knew what he was doing with that gel in his palms. As hard as it was for him to believe, the moment of truth had finally arrived. As proud as he was, he was ready to admit the nerves were starting to set with each passing moment. Sarafina was a brave girl...and she knew that all too well. Anyone who was willing to stick around for this long or even agree to marry him was either borderline insane or incredibly brave. He was willing to bet money on that, too.
"You have no idea how weird this feels." Dodger muttered with a smirk as Kaleb fidgeted around with his hair some more, making it look presentable.
((-shoots self- I would have put more thought and effort into this...but I am a sleepy Noleh.))

Sarafina finshied putting the Boutonniere, it was then she heard the sound of apporching feet one of the workers from the chap apporched her Ten minutes He said to her. Sarafina nodded in response to the worker who trotted off to see to other matters for the wedding to continue. Sarafina knew that she was going to be happy with Dodger, and she was happy with him. They've known eachother for a year after meeting in Dallas, and maybe it was fate that they foud eachother and fate couldn't have made a better man for her. Sarafina loved Dodger no matter how, stubborn, hard headed or much of a pain he was she still loved him.
She started to feel her nerves raise, of course she was nervous why wouldn't she be. This was probably going to be the most happiest, nervous day of her life. She looked over at Semper, "I'm so nervous." She said as she let out a deep sigh to relax her nerves.

"Oh, be quiet. That's why you made me the best man to make sure you presentable." He said with a smirk as he started to fix Dodger's mess of a hair, Kaleb has known Dodger for a very long time and he had never seen Dodger so happy, and in love with a girl until Sarafina came along, and the way Dodger acted ever since he got with Sarafina he had been different and in a good way. Sarafina was one of those who didn't give on Dodger after so many people had, even Kaleb knew that Dodger wasn't an easy guy to love (NOT FROM EXPERINACE, HE'S STRAIGHT) but Sarafina had always made it seem easy. She never gave up on Dodger, and infact Sarafina was the reason why Dodger went to rehab to sober up and he was a lot better then he was. He took a comb and started to comb his hair until it was at a suitable state, "That will have to do." As Kaleb grabbed the hairspray and sprayed Dodger's hair . "Alright, Dodger Moore. You ready to get married?" Kaleb said with a smile on his face.

Dodger scoffed at Kaleb, who insisted his best man duties including taming his nearly untamed mane of hair. He sank down into his chair, yawning from slight exhaustion from the lack of sleep the night before. Throughout his entire life, he never lost a second of sleep over anything...until the night before. Thoughts of today were keeping him wide awake, and not even a sleeping Marv could coax him to finally shut his eyes and keep them closed. "Have you ever considered becoming a hair stylist?" Dodger looked up at Kaleb and gave his best friend a sarcastic grin, standing up and examining his brand spankin' new hair-do. It was a significantly more formal from the usual wake up and go style, but he liked it.
You ready to get married?
That was a fantastic question, if he had ever heard one. Since the day he decided to pop the question he'd asked himself that but never really thought about what he truly meant. Maybe he didn't know what he was getting himself into. Whatever he was feeling right now at this moment, it felt right and he decided to go with his gut feeling. "Is it normal to feel this....uh, nervous?"

I understood how an event like this could cause someone to be nervous, but why? She was going to be joining Dodge in holy matrimony, so why be nervous? She should be happy -- and I knew that she was happy. Unless it was a forced/arranged marriage, who wouldn't be happy?
"Y' don't gotta be nervous," I told her, putting a hand on her shoulder. Even though being nervous is completely normal, she still didn't need to be. "Sure, it's the beginnin' of a comittment t' someone else for as long as y' live 'n' then yer stuck with his smartass-ness for good, but y' don't gotta be nervous." I smirked at her, trying to add a bit of humor to the situation and lessen the anxiety.
((Crappy post. x.x It was either this or another wave of angst, so I decided to spare y'all of the obvious angst. :P xD ))

Sarafina felt his hand on her shoulder she couldn't help but look at him with a smile, she knew Semper would be there if she needed anything afterall what were older brothers for right? She couldn't help but giggle at his comment, "Smartass-ness, never heard that one before." With a smile on her face. She never thought she would be nervous on her wedding day, but then again she never thought she would be getting married and now she was, getting married to the guy of her dreams.
