"Bloody hell" Pippa cursed under her breath as bent down and began to pick up the entire contents of her back pack that was now scattered on the quad's concrete. She'd forgotten to actually zip her bag up in her rush to get the hell out of her history class and this was the result. She sighed as she reached under a nearby bench to grab her eyeliner, so far her first day at the stupid American school was going horribly.
She stood up now, brushing the dirt off of her tight fitting jeans before she bent down and picked up her fully zipped backpack. She looked around to make sure she was alone before sitting down on the bench that had tried to steal her eyeliner and opened the small pocket on the front of her bag. She pulled out a back of cigarettes and quickly lit one up, sighing with relief as she took a puff.
She closed her eyes as she smoked, trying to imagine her life back in England. Her mind wandering back to sitting on the docks, with her best friend Jewels as they watched the fisherman dock their boats and bring in the days harvest. A few of the men would look over at them, hoot and holler, making rude gestures on occasion. Pippa could almost hear them now with eyes closed, her head lifted up to the sky. The sound of a nearby horn honking snapped her to reality. She opened her eyes and looked around the quad. This was real, she was stuck here.

Tam rounded the corner absently as she pulled her saddle bag further up her shoulder, glancing at herself in her compact to observe the dark circles beginning to form there. The moral of this story? Don't stay out until 6 on the morning on a school night, roll into bed at 7 then allow yourself to be dragged out (short of kicking and screaming) at 8. Life was not kind.
In fact life had a terrible habit of chucking a number of unexpected, idiotic obstacles at you unless you go around with a conveniently placed helmet (metaphorically of course for it's a well known fact that helmets cause the dreaded Hat hair, another of lifes unfair tricks), there was simply no escape...Tam scowled slightly. Tiredness always made her think to hard into stupid things along with making her horribly irritable.
And by now, it was well known that an irritable Tam was NOT a good thing.
In the end she simply gave up, collapsing onto a bench on the quad, giving a slight groan. She'd have given up sex for a year...ok that was a bit steep...terribly steep, she'd shrivel up and die without but this was besides the point. She's have given up sex for the entire week to rid herself of the pounding headache her hangover had left. And then like something from heaven, she caught a great sniff of cigarette smoke...she hadn't had a cigarette in...well since she'd moved from England at the beginning of the year...bloody hell she'd gone cold turkey and hadn't even noticed...then again it wasn't like she'd ever been that much of a smoker, it just brought back rather vivid memories of moments a bit like now, completely hungover, a large group of them dragging themselves to the fish and chip shop, several of them smoking...bloody hell fish, chips and cigarette smoke, on reflection a somewhat strange combination.
"Do you have another one?" She asked turning to the other girl.
OOC: Excuse the randomness, it's morning xD

Pippa nearly lost her thoughts in London again when a girl rounded the corner of the quad. The girl looked exhausted as she sat down next to Pip with a groan. Pippa eyed her quietly for a moment, giving a small smirk at the girls accent. "Nice to see I'm not the only brit stuck in this dump" she replied, her own thick accent seeming to echo throughout the courtyard.
"I'm Pippa"She grabbed the pack of cigarettes that she'd let fall into her lap and pulled one out, offering it and her lighter to the girl next to her. She sighed as she took another puff of her cigarette. "God this place is dull...does anything ever happen around here?"

Tam gratefully accepted the cigarette, taking the lighter and inhaling the lit cigarette.
"Jesus, I haven't...oh my god!" She said, perhaps somewhat more awake.
"Oh my frickin' Jesus bollocking Christ! You...you speak English! You're English, you speak...British English! YOU'RE FROM ENGLAND!" She said excitedly before tapping the end of her cigarette to rid it of the embers settling at the bottom.
"Where're are you from?!" She laughed.
"Oh and sorry, total ditz, I'm Tam, the best person you could possibly have hoped to meet and yes, there's plenty going on here, you just have to know the right people," She said with a wink.

Pippa laughed as the girl literally flipped out over their shared heritage. "It's ok, I so glad theres someone else here who should be back in England." Pip laughed again at that, she didnt know anything about this girl yet, but a small part of her hoped she hated it here in the states as much as Pip did.
"Oh I'm sure theres loads to do, I've just been pretty much alone since I got here a month ago.' She gave the girl a small frown before finishing off her cig. She dropped it onto the ground, crushing it with her heavy black boot. "Oh and I'm from London, my mum is still there but my dad is here in the states...hes an american."
((ooc: omg my posts are getting worse!!! lol))

"Ahh!" She cried, almost flapping.
"I'M FROM LONDON TOO!" She laughed.
"South Kensington but I pretty much lived in Camden...one of my boyfriends lived in Camden, he was amazing...but a druggy...actually he was my shagging buddy because you know the moment I stick the title 'boyfriend' on a bloke everything turns bloody sour," She babbled.
"So anyway, dragged here kicking and screaming I'm guessing? Don't worry, you get used to America, they have Ben & Jerry's, can't be that bad right?" She teased gently inhaling the smoke deeply once more.
OOC: Don't worry about it, I swear mine aren't usually THIS short xD

"Camden?" Pippa felt her heart skip a beat at that. "Most my friends were from Camden...loads of druggies there." She smirked, "Which was exactly why I was there..you know?
Pip took another cigarette out of her pack and lit it up, "I swear to God living in this damn country is going to make me a pack a day smoker." She sighed as she took another drag on her cigarette, tilting her head up into the air to blow the smoke in rings to the sky. "So..you seem like a girl who knows the ways around here, tell me, whose shaggable?" Pippa laughed as she looked over at Tam, she may be the new girl but she still knew how to party and if she was going to be stuck in the bloody states she sure as hell was going to make the most of it.

"I know," She laughed.
"But it's even better if the druggies are there because you are," She laughed giving a slight wink. She of course had plenty of experience with such things and regularly spent her time 'gaining' aforementioned 'experience'.
"Nah it's not so much the chain smoking, it's the loss of the beloved and oh so cherished accent!" She said wisely.
"'cause I mean honestly, what's the point if being a 'foreigner' in another country if you can't stick out like a bloody sore thumb," She grinned before she gave an ever so slight grimace.
"That my dear is where it all goes downhill. I'd say Bear Keeni but he's obsessed with his now pregnant girlfriend...he's amazing shag though...and I'd probably end up killing you if you got into his pants, Semp's gorgeous but he's my future brother in law so also out of bounds, Sage is my brother but you can have him! There's a load of other guys that look like him too, urm Ace Aimes was the first guy I had it off with after I got here...no wait...no it was Kaleb first...oh he's single! My ex fiance...but I wouldn't really recommend it, thinks get kind of serious...fast. Urm...that's about it actually...unless you swing the other way too," She said with a slight smirk.

Pippa shook her head, a look of almost pure horror crossing her face. "I seriously seriously better not lose my accent,". She took another puff of her cigarette, "I intend to go back to England as soon as I can, I'll need it again." She laughed. "Plus it's not so much that I'd like to stick out as the foreigner, just that the less I'm like my dead beat American dad the better, yeah?"
She finished off the second cigarette far quicker than the first and smashed it to the ground next to her first. She ground her boot into the concrete, watching as the ashes flew in every direction away from it. As Tam explained the situation with what seemed like nearly every guy worth mentioning in the school Pippa could do nothing but shake her head.
She smirked back at Tam's last words, "Well as a matter a fact...I swing both ways but prefer the other." Pip smirked, looking around the quad as she spoke, "Honestly it's for the simple fact of everything you just said...boys are so over-dramatic sometimes."

Tam chuckled, absently rolling the cigarette between her fingers.
"I thought the absolute same when I got here, along with the 'I won't do that president thing every morning'...whatever it's called but...I have no other choice, I can't really go bavk so I'm sticking with it. Plus I found my sister and my brother so it's not that bad," She shrugged, perhaps a little more quietly. Why she didn't go back she had no idea, she did love Richmond and the people in it, but London was her home and she loved it.
Either way, heartbreak was wherever she went so what was the point in cowering from something inevitable?
She paused for a moment before giving herself a quick shake and continuing on. There was a time for self pity and endless 'poor me's but it got boring, even if they were just circulating in her head.
"Plus all my music on the much loved iPods British, Jamie T's even been growing," She teased lightly before a laugh sounded from her lips.
"Oh well both ways is probably a hell of a lot easier...I always wanted to try swingingbthe other way...but I like convenience," She said with a grin.

Pippa laughed, "Yeah going both ways can be better sometimes...but sometimes its a total drag." She continued to smash the cigarette on the ground with her boot until there was nothing left of it. "I had one guy I was dating..constantly was accusing me of cheating with girls." Pip rolled here eyes at this, giving Tam an exagerated smirk. "I mean being bi doesn't automatically make someone a whore, you know?"
