Hayley Fox had spent most of her evening alone, watching the Scream trilogy and putting the finishing touches on her essay for English. She had only written down three sentences before snapping her pencil in frustration, throwing it into the trash can. "Fuck it, I'll just take the zero." Hayley had already accepted her failing grade, she would still get to graduate with everyone else in her grade. Now that prom was dead and gone, she had a little more time to focus on the little things in life. You know, like the best friends that kept you on your toes and looked out for you whenever you slipped.
Her usual confident and carefree persona had begun to fade away, revealing a tense and scared Hayley that she didn't even recognize. Maybe I'm losing my mind. She turned off the movie, and glanced down at her sleeping dog that was comfortably relaxed in her lap. Peaceful. Nonchalant. Everything that Hayley wished she could be. "Behave yourself, won't you? Don't let my dorm burn down, they'll get you for that one." The lazy Dachshund looked up and blinked, as if agreeing to her request in an apathetic fashion.
"Hey Chicago, you here?" She didn't remember what time it was, but being here was better than being alone.

Chicago was watching the late late movie on tv seeing as, once again, she couldn't sleep. Groaning at yet another ad break, she padded her way over to the bathroom and washed her face, then padded back into the main section of her dorm. She went over to the coffee table she had near the television that had drawers in the sides and opened the middle one to find a packet of Doritos she'd hidden in there the week before. Grinning, she pulled them out and opened the packet, and went to return to her bed covered in pillows and cozy blankets and stuff.
Hearing a knock on the door as she was about to sit down, Chicago took her packet of chips with her when she went to answer. Reaching the door, she heard her best friend Hayley call through. Chicago opened the door quickly. "Hey! 'Course I'm here. Come on in." She held the door open for her friend who lived on the other side of campus. She toed the door to her dorm closed "Grab a seat somewhere. The beds big enough for both of us if you want sit there.." -------- notes: gsanhashgo blech
