Good gravy. These past few weeks have been nothing but a freakin' roller coaster that seems to never end. One day I think the world is coming down, next day I have no idea what the hell is going on, then I think I've lost everything, and now it's like nothing ever happened. The whole mixing and swirling of polar emotions was driving me up the hall and down the wall and into the storage room. Gah! For once this new year, I wish I could just have a week where I can stay sane for the majority of it.
Bell was over her colic -- thank God -- so now I could somewhat sleep better at night, knowing that she isn't out there with her intestines twisting every which way and stomach flippi-- eh, not a nice visual. I'll spare you. But anyway, she's doing a whole lot better now, running all over the pasture and nipping at other horse's knees like she always does. Good gosh, she's gonna get impaled one of these days.... I really hope that doesn't happen. That would only add more money to the bill I already owe the vet for helping Bell's colic; luckily the guy is letting me pay in installments, but still. It's a hell of an amount to pay and right now I'm just not in the best situation financially. I got laid was laid off at the auto shop, so there was a hiatus there, but luckily the fire department was looking for people, so at least I'm back on my feet. Sort of.
But anyway, as I trudged up the stairs to the floor that my dorm was on, I flinched away from the stairwell lights that only irritated this pulverizing headache that came about sometime early this morning. I originally thought it was a result of my hayfever since spring is here, so I took some allergy medicine, but now I wasn't so sure it was anything pollen-related. And with all these bottled-up stress I had yet to either vent in writing or to Rabbit, it wasn't doing this headache any good.
I raised my hand to my head to lightly rub the temples as I headed down the hall, just wanting to be in a dark and cool room. Luckily the day was turning towards evening, so the temperature should drop, so I could have the window open. I doubted Sage would really like it if I cranked up the air conditioner, even though it was really hot outside (at least, it was to me). He seemed to always be cold, so the air conditioner was out of the plan.
As soon as I entered the dorm room, I nearly tripped over Rabbit as she bolted right at me, tail wagging furiously while she jumped up and down at such an incredible height that I would've thought she had springs on her paws. Even her occasional extremely quiet whimper was enough to send a jolt of pain through my head. I closed the door and turned around to face the overly-excited pit bull. "Rabbit.... you're too excited..." I told her in a light tone, reaching down to stroke her head and back. She then trailed behind me as I headed into the bathroom, scoping out the bottle of allergy pills. I figured it had been eight or so hours since I last had one, so I opened it and poured out two. Then for this damn headache, I took up a bottle of pain pills and took out a few. I figured that since I'm a whole lot bigger than any of the height and weight things on the label, I'd be okay taking one or two extra. Besides, this headache was killing me.
Heading back into the bedroom, I went over to my nightstand and took a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap, popped the pills into my mouth and swallowed them one by one with water. Pills never went down easily; there was always that feeling of them getting stuck in the back of my throat, but this time I didn't feel that. All my attention had now gone to the window. Setting the water back down, I went over to the window and tried to pry it open, though it took me a while to figure out it was still locked. Wow. Just... wow. I'm pathetic. I began muttering to myself, but was stopped when Rabbit let out a sharp yip. Cringing, I turned to the pit bull, seeing that she was standing and looking up at me, her tail limp behind her and one ear forward, one ear back.
"Rabbit, don't be barkin' like that. I don't want t' have t' give you up jus' for barkin'." I told her quietly, reaching down to her again and petting her. She whimpered, taking a step forward and nudging my leg with her nose, looking up at me again with her dark brown eyes. "What's wrong?" I knew she couldn't answer, but just the look on her face... she never looked like this before. "What's wr--...."
Rabbit suddenly went blurry -- everything around me went fuzzy as well. My head... oh, fucking hell, it hurt. A hand went up to my head, but my arm suddenly felt as though it were made of lead. Something was horribly wrong... I just couldn't do anything about it. The edges of my vision were quickly turning black and my head was in a leaf spin; my sense of balance was thrown off kilter as my knees gave out from underneath me and I fell to the floor, landing on my back.
I could barely hear Rabbit's obnoxious barking even though she was right next to me. What the hell had happened? Maybe I took the wrong pills... I don't know. I'm half-blind, I can't read small text very good anyways. Maybe--.... maybe......... It's getting darker... darker...... s--

Tam pushed a hand absently pushed her fingers through her golden blonde hair before tying it back into a messy bun, her music blasting out from the speakers her ipod now sat on. She'd come to the random and completely unfounded decision that perhaps she'd go out tonight, she'd text Chicago and Dream, perhaps a few others after she'd had a shower and then go to The Kick or something. She was bored and tired of studying...not that she actually ever did much of that...
Humming to herself she wrapped her towel round herself, picking up her shampoo and shower gel and headed off for the bathroom. It was only after about 5 minutes or so under the steaming water that she even heard the barking down the corridor. She frowned. It was pretty loud if she could hear it over the music.
She hesitated before shrugging and returned to singing into the shower head. She moved returned to humming as the song came to a close, washing the shampoo out of her hair when she heard the barking again...ugh, bloody creature! She returned the shower head to it's rightful place before getting out of the shower, pushing her hair back into another bun, wrapping her towel round her and pushing open the door and marching out out across her room and into the hall.
Muttering to herself she came to a stop before the room that it seemed to be coming from, knocking once, frowning slightly when there was no answer before pressing her hand against the door and allowing it to swing open.
She completely froze when she saw the figure lying on the floor, the dog still barking frantically by his side.
"...Semp?" She said tentatively although she couldn't say she really expected him to reply.
"Oh shit. Shit, shit, shit," She breathed before moving further into the room, holding her towel in place as she knelt beside him.
"...Semper..." She hissed, patting his cheek.
"Semp you're scaring me...err...blink if you can hear me," She said.
...she seriously needed to get help...

Rabbit could sense that something was wrong the moment her human went into the small water-smelling room that her claws always clicked on the tile. She trailed him around, her brown and vibrant eyes watching his every move as he lifted some small container and poured a lot of little tube-locking items, tossing them into his mouth and drinking some liquid. Her ears perked forward and her tail drooped down as a certain, peculiar scent drifted towards her wet nostrils. Something was wrong.... horribly wrong.
Following him out into the room, she watched him as he tried to open a window, but the scent was growing stronger and stronger. A quiet whimper escaped her as she pranced in place impatiently, trying to figure out what to do. She had to let her human know that something was wrong; she wanted to protect him since he didn't hit her like her previous humans did. He didn't throw her into a ring with other mean dogs like her previous humans did.
The pit bull let out a sharp bark, looking up at him with pleading eyes, hoping that he'd understand that she knew something was awfully wrong. He turned and looked at her, reaching to pet behind her ears, mumbling something in that human speech that she didn't understand, but then he began acting weird. Panic and worry began to set in her as she started barking to get his attention while he wobbled, eventually falling to the ground with a tremendous thud. Rabbit quickly went over, nudging him and barking wildly, trying to get his attention but failing.
It didn't take long before another human showed up; but this time they smelled of soap, water, and cloth. Rabbit turned her head to see the human come into the room, sensing the panic that the good-smelling human felt as she knelt down next to the pit bull's human, touching his face and talking in that same human speech she didn't understand. Rabbit stood there quietly, watching the she-human, though she felt the need to protect her human. A shy warning growl sounded from her throat as she looked at the good-smelling human, trying to frighten her but trying to not also be very loud for fear of being hit.

Chicago had had a bit of a full on day (full on last three or four months, but thats beside the point), and so when she had finished her classes and her various meetings and such, she dropped her books on her bed, a couple of extra books on the floor and went straight to the bathroom for a shower. That was about half an hour ago now. Since finishing her shower, she had pushed her bag off the bed to join her book, fell back on the pillows and put her iPod earphones in her ears and went for a small nap with Oasis playing in the background.
She awoke with a start, and looked over at the clock on her beside table, next to picture of Sage, Semp and herself. She had been asleep for forty minutes, but felt worse than she did before, but in a strange way. She had a really bad feeling about something. After a minute or so, Chicago became aware of the barking. She could have sworn that sounded like Rabbit, she'd know that bark anywhere. Why would she be barking? Semp would have been in his dorm by now, and usually told her to be quiet of she barked, which she didnt normally. A wave of fear washed over here. Something was wrong with Semp. She felt sick to the stomach as the realisation that she seemed to be followed around by bad luck sunk in.
Chicago made it from her bed to her door in seconds and flung the unsuspecting rectangular piece of wood open on its hinges, not caring that she was only dressed in a singlet top and scungy denim shorts, tousled half-dry hair flying behind her, and the lingering smell of her soft perfume mixed with her shampoo surrounding her as she ran across the wide hall from her dorm to the one her boyfriend shared with her brother. The door to the room was open and she forced herself to slow down as she reached the door frame. Panicky bright blue eyes scanned the room and settled on the form of the love of her life lying motionless on the floor, her sister wrapped in a towel trying to get a response out of him. Tears pricked the back of her eyes as she moved across the room to kneel on the other side of Semp. Her bottom lip was trembling as she shook his shoulder gently, knowing deep down that it wouldnt help. "Semper? ....Semp? ....Babe? .......Baby, answer me please??" she said in a shaky voice, not caring that her sister was in the room. She wiped the tears running down her cheeks with the back of her hand before looking over at Tam. "..have you called help??" Not getting a response, Chicago scrambled up off the floor and run back out into the hallway that ran between the dorms on the second floor. Turning in a small circle, looking for anyone else she knew, she saw a few dorm doors cracked open, letting people know they were there. Feeling completely helpless she brokedown, and managed to yell through tears "SOMEBODY CALL 911!! ..PLEASE!". The girl was so distraught, she could barely connect two thoughts together and collapsed into a pile of tears on the floor in the middle of the hallway, praying to every god imaginable that she had yelled loud enough and that someone would help.

The good-smelling human didn't seem to get angry with her growling, so Rabbit became quiet, her dark brown eyes watching curiously. She knew that the human was there to help her human, so he would soon get up and they could go play "frisbee," or whatever it was in human speak. The thought of the flying circular thing made her tail slowly sway from side to side, but as another human came into the room, she fell still again.
But hey! Rabbit knew this human. She recognized her scent -- such a sweet one, much like the flowers in bloom outside. The pit bull's ears turned forward and her tail perked up to a joyful wag, but as soon as she noticed that water was coming from the dark-haired human's eyes, she knew something else was wrong. But what? She knew her human was probably asleep, but what else was wrong? Venturing forward, she listened to the familiar human as she said some things, but nothing the dog could understand. It didn't take long before the human got up and quickly went out of the room. Rabbit, confused, looked back at her human and the good-smelling human, figuring that the good-smelling one could take care of her human, so she decided to follow the dark-haired human out into the hall, her ears turning back as the human yelled in that strange foreign language before falling to the ground, just as her human had done before.
Trotting quickly over, Rabbit lowered her head, giving a quiet whimper. She didn't want the dark-haired one to fall asleep too, so she gently nudged the fur-less shoulder with her wet nose, dark brown eyes observing the human. Feeling a sense of panic in the air, Rabbit reached forward, whimpering and licking the water off the dark-haired human's face in a gentle manner, trying to ease that panicked tension the dog felt.

Tam allowed her hand to move into her lap, breathing a quick shallow breath to calm herself as she tried to think about what to do...other than go mental and flap around. As the saying goes; 'Keep Calm and Carry On'...apparently easier said than done. She couldn't claim to be all that great at first aid or anything but even she knew how to check someone's pulse. She was in the middle of doing so when she heard his dog give a low growl. She paused, glancing at it, Semp's wrist still in clasped in her hand. Ordinarily, she may have been a little more anxious but right then she had bigger fish to fry....especially when her sister entered moments later, spotting the admittedly rather frightening scene and subsequently freaking out.
Her nerves were becoming increasingly frayed as Chicago shot the question at her...call someone...god why hadn't she called someone?! He could be dying...she didn't even like to think about it. She turned in time to see Chicago collapse in the hallway, just in view and closed her eyes quickly. She wanted to go comfort her but...it seemed stupid to just...leave him.
"...Chicago...Chicago hun you need to calm down and...can you go and get a phone or something?" She called gently through the door, not altogether sure whether she should abandon her post or not.
OOC: Sorry for the shit post, brains dying!
