Mary Sue stood before her mirror, tying the halterneck of her 'sweet heart' neckline into place, the twee little 50's petticoated dress sitting quaintly into place. When she was satisfied she threw her reflection a little smirk. Perfect. As always.
She was going to meet Semper, who'd ever so kindly agreed to take her to the mall for the 'fittings'. She gave a little snort. Gullable apparently couldn't cover it. She'd only ever spoken to Chicago once, the idea that Chicago would have invited her to the wedding let alone to be a bridesmaid was preposterous...not that he was to know that of course. She didn't think that lie would last for long but hopefully it'd be good enough for it...not to matter let's just say.
She moved out the door and down to the parking lot where she knew he'd be waiting for her.
"Guess who," She said in a sweet sickly voice as she came to a halt behind him, a smile in place.

It's amazing how you can just arrive somewhere and become good friends with someone. It just seemed a bit odd to me that Chicago would invite Mary to be a bridesmaid after she just got here. I've known Chicago for years and this kind of seemed uncharacteristic of her to do so, but I wasn't going to ask about it. Maybe I would later, when I could find her, but for now I was waiting beside my rusty truck, kicking little rocks off into the parking lot.
When I heard her behind me, I turned and offered a small smile. "Hey Mary." I said, getting the keys out of my pocket and gesturing towards the passenger side of the cab. "Y' might have t' yank the door some. It's been gettin' stuck lately." I opened the driver's side door and got in, closing it and turning on the engine.

Mary laughed.
"Don't worry. My daddy used to be real handy, we used to work together on the cars sometimes...I'm sure I can handle it," She said.
The sooner she could drop the blasted act the bloody better. She was stronger than she allowed anyone to think, faster too...nor as weak ankled as she regularly professed. But it'd have to wait, for the moment she would play the part, the 'pretty little girl over there', the pretty, clever, ever so polite little girl with a kind heart and warm smile...she felt the corners of her lips twitch upwards ever so slightly.
Kind heart, warm smile, the same kind heart that ripped lives apart with unequalled efficiency, that warm smile that followed, each step of the way, always in place. Always perfect.
She got into the car in her usual graceful way, planting her bag down by her feet as she pulled her seatbelt over her before she paused.
"Oh," She said quietly, tears suddenly filling her eyes.
OCC: I so have not been looking at the Mary Sue test trying to find every cliche possible *shifty eyes* xD

I turned the key in the ignition, listening to the old engine trying to catch. After a moment I stopped, tried it again, stopped, tried it again, stopped, and it finally worked. Ol' faithful engine, never lets me down..... usually.
I didn't really bother waiting to see if she was buckled or not before I backed the truck up and started heading towards the bridal shop or whatever it's called. It still wasn't quite clicking in my head that Chicago had asked what's-her-face to be a bridesmaid when she just got to Richmond. Maybe she was just being nice. Chicago's a nice person, so I bet you that's the reason why she was sitting in the passenger seat of my truck, cryi--
"Are y' alright?" I asked, furrowing my brows as I glanced at her, being sure to keep my eyes mostly focused on the road. Why was she crying? I just hope she hadn't gotten scratched from the truck, or else I'd take a speedy detour to the doctor or hospital to get her a tetanus shot.
