nobody said it was e a s y,
[/sub] it's such a shame for us to part. - - - - - - It felt so weird standing out in front of all these great big houses. All I had ever known was the wilderness and a rundown barn with no electricity, so to live here was such a big change that I wasn't sure I could handle it. I mean, hell, even indoor plumbing was a shock to me when I found out how easily accessible it was for "normal" people. I'm so old school it's not even funny. The barn I had lived in was fairly big, but it was nothing compared to all of these. There was nothing rickety or rotting or shanty about these elegant estates. I felt so out of place, so.... Southern. If I had seen one of these majestic houses back in Tennessee, I would have thought that the people who lived in it where rich snobs and cared about no one but themselves. But now that I was going to most likely be living in one of them, I had a whole new perspective. And it was right on the beach, so I could just bring Bell and Gatsby down whenever I wanted and run them along the shore, even though I hated the ocean. Well, not hate, just a strong dislike. I stood on the street, looking at all the "for sale" signs that were sticking out on a lot of the front lawns. Since I had absolutely no idea where to start, I looked around for Tam and Sage, ready to just follow them around since they were the ones paying for most of it. oh let's go back to the start. Tam stood beside Semp, beaming from ear to ear as they looked up at the place, her imagination running wild as she took in every inch of the place. The estate agent was hovering nearby, obviously not sure whether or not they were actually serious about buying the place or simply wanted a good nose around. In the beginning it had been about 50/50, it'd been between the waterfront estates and the places uptown. She'd probably spent the last few days or so looking up endless properties close by, regularly shoving pamphlets in both Semp's and Sage's faces and demanding 'which one they preferred'...either way, mostly they went to go see them all anyway and, generally, whether they actually wanted to or not.
Tam was like a child in a candy shop, bouncing from room to room excitedly, she'd enthuse about every house they saw...then usually about a minute or two before the end decide that she hated the place.
"Come on!" She said cheerfully, looping her arms through both of theirs and promptly dragging them into the house.
