Short heels clacked smartly against the wooden pier, the sun shining down forcefully and skattering across the small ripples in the water, making it twinkle and sparkle in the daylight. Mary Sue felt a small smile touch her lips, the daisies she'd been making into a complex series of precise chains, they were the same kind of her mother used to make, before the accident that was...well that was what Mary Sue told everyone at least.
Mary Sue had never so much as set eyes on her mother and didn't intend to either. She hadn't ever been there and if there was one thing Mary Sue did not do, it was hanker after things that either weren't there or unachievable...then again, in her world VERY few things were unachievable OR unavailable. If she wanted it, she'd have it. All it ever took was a little determination, a few smiles, a few 'friendly gestures' and 'good deeds' and then, just like that, the world was at your mercy, offering up everything and just about anything. Manipulation was underrated as an art but perhaps that was a good thing.
She gave another sigh, allowing a finger to skim across the rail. She'd only just arrived at Richmond from yet another idiotic foster family but she didn't mind anymore, as long as things were cosy, she wasn't bothered.
Plus a new school meant a new start.
A new start meant new beginnings and by that she meant the beginning of their downfall. There was always a scandal somewhere, just waiting to be unearthed.
And by all the gods, she'd drag them out kicking and screaming because that was just her way.
The way to being a perfect Mary Sue.
Pfft.
