there's a fire starting in my heart
reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark

I walked down the beach, breathing in the sweet, yet salty air that came from the beach. I had always loved the beach near Richmond, and it was truly one of my favorite places to slack off. I pulled my dark gray T-Shirt off of my torso, and pulled my skinny jeans down, to reveal a jet-black pair of swimming trunks. I flexed my arms, and felt the old, scarred cuts resist the movement. I closed my eyes, and forgot about the cuts, and placed my hand on the silver necklace that had remained there through all of my school years. The silver pendant was very simplistic, but very nice as well. The necklace was simple, braided chains, with a large, silver pendant dangling form the bottom. It had the beautiful face of a flower imprinted on the front, and it was covered with the design of countless fingerprints of people who had touched the necklace, passed down from generation to generation of Coleman's. On the bottom, it was imprinted with a single phrase; "Thy brain is stronger than thy body." Athena had come in my sleep and blessed the neckline with her own gifts. The metal was cold against my skin, and I took my hand off of it. I stared out to the open sea, my eyes flicking from wave to wave, and my chest thumping with my powerful heartbeat as I rushed to the shore, and leaped into the water. Underwater was really a beautiful site. I opened my eyes, and held my breath, gazing out at the clear blue water. The temperature was cool, and the surface was ice cold as I emerged. I breathed in again, and dove underwater once more. 286 WORDS , POSEIDON |
