Tam moved down to the quad, pushing her hand through her hair before pushing it back over her shoulder, giving a yawn. She'd only recently arrived and hadn't slept a wink the night before...namely because her stepmother had spent the majority of the evening going on about about something or other...another feud about yet another of Tam's father's numerous affairs. Tam didn't understand it; if she had so many problems with it than she should quit her nagging and bloody do something about it...other than throwing the fine china. It had been a great relief to Tam to find out that she wasn't actually related to her, the woman was so uptight about EVERYTHING, not to mention her brother who was a surly git. Coming to school was a good thing. She liked it. She moved to sit down, smoothing down her skirt before pulling out her compact. Outfit

Chicago walked through the school with an ease that came with being in a place for so long. Smiling at students and a few of her friends, she pushed her long black hair over her shoulder as she headed through the quad to the south block of the school. She slowed her pace almost to a stop as she saw a breathtakingly stunning girl sitting down on a bench. Chicago knew she had never seen her before, she would definitely remember, so she walked over to where the girl sat to introduce herself and see if she needed any help. "First day? I remember how that feels. Im Chicago," she offered with a smile. ((im so sorry it was crap and had no spacing :S Im on my phone. will fix it asap))

Tamara glanced up when she noticed someone sit down beside her. She assessed the pretty girl for a moment before giving her a warm smile. "Yeah, I'm new," She said. "Chicago? Is that a nickname?" She asked curiously. "...so have you been here long? What do you guys actually DO around here?...For fun I mean," She asked, pocketing her compact and turning her full attention to the girl beside her. "Oh and I'm Tamara by the way but you can call me Tam," She added giving her a smile, confidently greeting her. Outfit

Chicago smiled back at the girl. Smiling was infectious. "I thought you were. I'd definitely remember meeting someone as pretty as you. No, its not a nickname, it's my real name. Chicago Rae Eastlyn." she replied with a small point to herself.
"I've been here since my freshman year. And I'm a Junior here. Well, we have the mall and everything downtown, parks all that sort of stuff. Plus we have all the sports and clubs that school have and all that jazz. We're pretty close knit here, so I dont think you'll have a problem in making friends."
She smiled as the girl introduced herself "Tamara is a really nice name." Chicago realised that she should probably see if the girl needed help finding her dorm and classes. "So, Tam. Do you know where your dorm is? Need me to help you find anything?"

"Thanks," Tam grinned. "I have pretty much no idea where anything is," She laughed. "I transferred from London like last week so I'm kind of getting used to...well everything," She smiled. Outfit

Chicago grinned back at the girl. "No worries."
She smiled again. "Well, being a longterm resident here at Richmond and a member of student council, I'm perfectly able to give you a tour and help you get settled in, and then get away with being late to class." She replied teasingly, but it was true. All teh teachers knew she was student council, so she really was able to do that. It was her job after all.
Chicago was gobsmacked. "Oh my God, England? Wow. I feel like such a country hick standing next to you." she joked, even though there was truth behind her words. Tamara sounded and looked so...elegant and chic. Chicago came from the middle of B.F nowhere. She gave another smile "I can help you get used to everything here, if you'd like, of course." She didnt generally feel out of place, but standing next to this girl who she supposed was a big city girl, she felt kind of insignificant, but tried not to let it show.

Tam grinned at her. "I'm late everywhere! Being new at least gives me a reason!" She laughed. "Thank you so much! I'm so crap with directions, I can't even find my way out of my own room sometimes," She laughed. Not that her father ever actually paid anything...the bills were always sorted out by her stepmother and in case of emergency, her grandparents...she missed them too. "Yeah I kind of...miss it, whoever pays me credit card bill probably doesn't feel the same way though," She joked. "So where're you from then?" She asked curiously. Outfit

Chicago laughed as Tam commented about being late everywhere. "I dont usually have that problem, but if do, the teachers know I'm pretty busy, so most of them are pretty cruisey about it, just because its not often that I'm late...If that makes sense..." she smiled, shaking her head slightly as if it would make the rambling go away. "Hey, no worries, anytime. If yo ever get lost and you're all by yourself, gimme a ring, and I'll help sort you out, I know this place backwards. But yeah, I'll help you with whatever you need help with" Chicago offered with a smile, giving the girl a quick once over. She couldnt help herself, she was her mothers daughter after all. But standing here next to Tamara, Chicago noticed she was critisizing herself more than usual (which was a substantial amount). She'd opted for a casual kind of look today, with her check dress and black ankle boots, plus trademark raybans, she thought she looked okay. Pushing the doubting thoughts from her mind, she focused on Tamara again. "I'd miss it too." Chicago replied, though she did miss her middle of nowhere hometown. Mostly just because her dad was there though. They talked for hours on end on the phone during the school year, because he was so far away, she couldnt visit. Then the dreaded question. Well, to tell the truth... "...I'm from Hell." she knew Tam wouldnt beleive her, most people had never heard of the ACTUAL place. Waiting for the response to the hometown issue, Chicago thought she should probably find out about what classes and stuff Tam had so they could walk and talk at the same time. "So, do you have your timetable and dorm assignment and all that other paperwork type stuff on you?"-------- outfit: hur XD

"Hell? Sounds like an interesting place to live..." She teased gently.
"...I think I have my timetable somewhere, my bag's like an endless pit..." She said pulling the black saddle bag onto her lap and rifling through it before she paused.
"Err you know....I read something somewhere...about this school being...different..."She said suggestively. She'd only found about her mother a little while ago...she just wondered if there were others like her.

Chicago laughed, "Its an actual place. I'm from Hell, Michigan. Tiny little hick town, though I dont tell many people were I'm from, so they just assume I'm from some bustling metropolis or at least quaint suburbs, which suits me just fine." she finished with a smile.
She loved this girl already, they were so alike. Almost like sisters. "Yeah, i know the feeling. I put something in there and then regret it ten minutes later 'coz I cant find it for the life of me." Chicago had to clean out her handbag once a week.
As Tamara paused and asked about the school being different, Chicago pulled her Raybans off her eyes and pushed them to rest on the top of her head, and regarded the girl in front of her quite seriously. She couldnt run the risk of just blurting it out, or asking the girl upfront, in case this girl was a regular who had heard rumors. Instead, she gave the girl a look that she hoped said "I'm not really ignoring your question, I'm fishing for information." ...if you could even fit that into a look. Then she asked the all deciding question, "Which block of the school do you live in?" The demi's at the school used that question to determine whether detailed family history was an appropriate subject to talk about, because the regs lived in the North block of the school, while the demigods and goddesses lived in the South end. It was really the quickest way to determine which group someone belonged in.

"Oh," Tam said.
"I thought you were kidding! That's sounds like such a cool place to live! It sounds so much better than saying 'I'm from London' or New York or wherever else," She laughed.
"I really wish I came from a small town, I guess you get to know everyone when you're in some tiny little place...although I do love shopping..." She said.
"You should be proud to be a small town girl!" She teased.
"Urm...I'm not sure which block...I think they said south...I can't be sure though...why?" She asked curiously, biting her lip slightly. She wanted to come right out and ask but it didn't seem like the smartest thing to do.

"Most people do. "Hell? no way. Where are you really from?" ...Yeah, it gets people eveytime though, so its pretty funny. It just gets old answering the samw questions about it over and over, but whatever, you know?" Chicago said with a smile.
"Yeah you do get to know everyone, but then once you do there isn't much diversity. But its cool, like having a bigger than normal family."
Chicago luaghed when Tamara siad that she should be proud. Not a "I can't beleive you just said that" laugh. It was more of a "I really like talking to you" kind of laugh.
She wasnt sure which block she was? If Tamara found her timetable, Chicago would be able to grab everything she needed to know off that. "It would just be cool to know if you were close by. That way I can sneak into your dorm and booby trap the place..." she said with a grin. "I'm kidding. But your timetable would be helpful for me to figure out where to start our tour. You know, show you the stuff that is most important to you first, then the rest." She continued. That was part of the reason, anyways.

"Hell sounds so cool," She grinned impishly.
"Oh yeah, timetable, right!" She said before returning to rummaging in her bag...and finally simply turning it upside down, allowing the content to pour out.
"That's better," She said picking through a few papers.
"Haha! Found it!" She grinned before handing it over.
She didn't think she'd even looked at it so far.

Chicago smiled again at Tam. "Thanks. Its not as bad as I make it sound, and I actually find myself missing it alot."
She watched in amusement as Tamara turned her bag upside down. Yeah, she'd had to resort to that more times than one.
Chicago laughed as the girl passed over the timetable. "Thanks" She skimmed the paper and quickly grabbed all the information she needed, Greek history, Archery, South block dorms. Wonderful.
"Here you go, you can have it back now." Chicago grinned. "Lets walk and talk, and I'll fill you in."

Tam nodded, shoving her things back into her bag and giving it a small jiggle to make sure it stayed flat so she could actually close it before taking her timetable back.
"Ooo I get to do archery! That is so cool!" She laughed.
"I've always wanted to do that, my stepmum never let me though, she's a health and safety freak," Tam told her as she got to her feet.
"So...what does it mean exactly?" She asked holding her timetable up.
