The smell of Mother Nature filled the field as trees swayed side to side from the wind. It was an incredibly beautiful day today, especially when kids were out and about. Birds flew and leaves fell, it was as if this scene was straight from a painting about romanticism, but it was all real. A Frisbee flew past the trees air as a boy caught it with one hand. hDang. That was a good one.h The boy muttered as he dropped the Frisbee and drank from his nearby water bottle. The boy was Ryan Saver Savant, and he was seriously bored.
Ryan sat down onto the grass field as he watched the little kids play on the swings and the sandbox. Dropping his water bottle next to him, Ryan wondered if he had acted like that too when he was a child, all excited and energetic in front of a slide. Frowning, Ryan got back up before he patted his pants to remove dirt off of them before he went back to playing with the Frisbee. Yeah, yeah, Frisbee was a REALLY underrated sport, but was probably one of the most active sports out there. Gritting his teeth, Ryan picked up the Frisbee before inspecting the edge of it. Okay, THIS was really boring. No one was here to play with him, and throwing a Frisbee around alone? Pft. It was lame that was all Ryan had to say. It was a nice Saturday evening at Richmond High too, who wouldnft want to get outside and have a little bit of fun? Adjusting his wrist, Ryan gave the Frisbee one strong throw before the wind blew it off course. hOh shi-g Bewildered by how far the Frisbee had gone off course, Ryan made a dead sprint towards it, hoping that it didnft hit anyone. Hopefully.

Mona wasn't one to be found by herself, on most days. Most would label her something of a social butterfly, but if not that, no one could say she was friendless. But the odd thing is, Mona was not only alone that Saturday early evening, she was sitting on the steps of the play structure. Mona was writing a letter to her mother. It was really difficult to write a letter to a parent who didn't know about all this ancient gods shit, without including a hint or two. It wasn't her mother's fault Hermes had left one day, without any explanation. He had visited Mona though. If her mother had ever found out, she'd have killed someone, most likely her daughter.
Mona stood up from her letter writing and stretched as a five year old whizzed by her. There were already several muddy or dusty children's footprint on her mother's letter. When this had first happened, Mona had angered slightly, or perhaps frustrated. Oh well, she'd start again or something. But after the third footprint, she realized it would be rather funnyu to send a letter with footprints on it. Her mother would be stumped till time's end.
At that moment, a circular patch of color whizzed over the sky. It wasn't going to land on Mona, but instinctly, she held out her hand for it anyways. The plastic fell into her fingers quickly. A frisbee. Mona, baffled slightly by the appearance of the object, began to look for it's owners. Random frisbees falling from the sun? No way.

Ryan slowed down to a halt as he spun around, trying to locate his missing Frisbee. Did it ever hurt Mother Nature to just make a day go on without an unexpected twist of events? Maybe it wasnft a very smart choice to throw a Frisbee around alone; a dog wouldfve been perfect for this kind of stuff. Resuming his run, Ryan looked side to side before he spotted it flying towards the play structure, and noticed a girl that was standing on the steps. As she caught the Frisbee and started to look around, Ryan waved his hand enthusiastically at his savior. When the girl turned around Ryanfs eyes opened up just a bit more, the girl was Mona, the girl he had met a few times before. The young teenager truly owed Mother Nature, even if he did hate unexpected events.
hMonaaaa!!!h Ryan ran towards Mona while stretching out the last part of her name. What? Was it wrong for a boy to do that? Slowing down until he stopped, Ryan gave his trademark smile to Mona as he fanned his t-shirt. The girl looked stunning once again, heck, she always looked stunning. hNever thought Ifd see someone I know here.h Ryan said before he felt his blood grow hot, especially at his cheeks. Why did he feel like he was naked in front of the whole world, when he had clothes on in front of a one girl? hSo, errrcchowfs it going?h Well, at least he could still talk without stuttering. Itfs all good, or at least, Ryan hoped so.

Monaaaa!!! Mona turned as she heard her name, baffled slightly by the stretched end. Oh Ryan, she thought, smiling, as she saw the boy she recognized so well. It wasn't that they'd been friends for a long time, but it was just difficult to forget someone you had met for the first time in Victoria's Secret, especially if it was a guy. Never thought Ifd see someone I know here., she heard him continue, and Mona giggled. To be honest, she hadn't expected that either. So, errr how's it going? his voice echoed in the back of her mind while she glanced at the blue disk. "Pretty good," Mona admitted, still looking down "Yourself?"

Ryan grinned as Mona giggled to his comment, was he always this jumpy? No, he remembered times when he was cool around girls, why was he so rigged around Mona? Looking around, Ryan bit his lower lip, he felt a bit more like a tomato around Mona than usual. Maybe after a day or so itfll all change back to normal. Startled by her quick response, Ryan turned his head toward her direction, noticing that she had looked at the Frisbee. hFabulous, thanks for asking Mona.h Right hand clenching tightly, Ryan licked his chaps, deciding whether to ask Mona if she wanted to throw the Frisbee around with him. hH-hey, do you want to give the Frisbee a throw?h There, he had asked her. Man, did he sound really lame or what? Backing up a large distance, Ryan waved his hands frantically in the air, hoping that Mona would agree.

Mona smiled tightly. Fabulous, thanks for asking Mona. There was something about his voice that made Mona strangely comfortable in a way she hadn't felt before. She liked Ryan. Quite a bit, too. H-hey, do you want to give the Frisbee a throw? she heard Ryan ask. Mona creased her lips. She loved to catch things. It was instinctive and she was good at it. But she couldn't throw at all, nomatter how many times she practiced with her old green disk - wherever she was. it was something that didn't come naturally to her. "Sure," she said, after a moment "Sorry if I suck though"

A silent sigh of relief came out of Ryanfs mouth as Mona agreed to play Frisbee with him. Actually, it did more than relieved him, somehow Monafs voice was like a tornado that consumed all of his worries in an instant. What was this feeling? Ryan felt weird and tingly all over, like how he felt whenc.forget it. This feeling was a lot happier one than when he got a toy car at age five, or the newest CD from his favorite album artist. This feeling was something more. Maybe he should ask Sage what this feeling was when he got back to his dorm, and hopefully find a satisfactory answer from the glove godf himself.
hWhenever youfre ready Mona! And you wonft suck! Ifm sure of it! h Ryan called out to Mona as his knees bent, bracing himself for the Frisbee. He quickly glanced at the play set, which were packed with kids now, it seemed like it was the perfect time for moms and dads to bring out their children to play. Funny, since Ryan was also felt like those kids at the moment, energetic without a care in the world. Looking back at Mona, Ryan then smiled, giving her a thumbs up as his eyes locked upon the Frisbee.

"Whenever you're ready Mona! And you won'tt suck! I'm sure of it! " As much as Ryan had the ability, uncommonly, to reassure her, there was nothing he could do for her shakey hand. That was why she had joined the hockey team, and the track team. No one was ever going to ask her to catch much, and that was oddly comforting. Now, with her new friend backed up twenty or so feet away from her, he was expecting her to throw it. It was just an arm motion. Why was Mona sweating this at all? She drew back the frisbee in her hand and swung out her forearm. She bit her lip, but the throw had gone better than she thought it might, as it soared, though slightly wobbly, on a straight path towards Ryan.

Ryan moved forward, blood pumping his veins. Even though the Frisbee was wobbly, it brought back the adrenaline of playing with others. It was fun. Lunging, Ryan caught the Frisbee, and then shifted his foot to remain steady. Wooo! He still had his skills, even if they were still a bit rusty. hThat was good Mona!h What is good for Ryan you ask? Anything that can make a Frisbee catchable, thatfs whatfs good. Now perfect was another subject. Running away from Mona, Ryan gave a thumbs up before shifting his upper body, giving his arm that was holding the Frisbee a short wave. hLong one coming right to ya Mona!h Ryan yelled out, uncaring whether he sounded like a crazy man to the other residents playing in the playset.
Ryanfs arm locked into a straight line as he threw the Frisbee into the wind. Maybe it was a miracle, or maybe it was fate. But the wind carried the Frisbee through the air, it looked very sorta beautiful to Ryan. Smiling, the freshman stared at the Frisbee, then at Mona. Okay, why was his blood accelerating like it was running a marathon right now?! Come on, he even was like what? Twenty feet away? He seriously needed some help from this right after they both go back to their dorms. But who could help him?

Long one coming right to ya Mona! Mona heard, and smiled wider. It was into their second throw and Mona started to feel like she was at home. Not back in her Boston penthouse, of course, but something oddly different. It felt as if something in her heart was gradually clicking into place. It could have been her love for frisbee, of course - but she knew better than to assume that, and almost hoped that the feeling was dependant on the guy standing across from her on the playground - Ryan. In that lapse of time, the freshman felt her hands grasp over the edges of the blue plastic disk, and her smile was set in stone. She flicked it back quickly and without a word, but it was suddenly clear that throwing wasn't a strong point of hers, as it veered distinctly left of where Ryan was standing.
