While Chase hated the mall, what with it's sheeple and easily entertained patrons, his dear friend Chicago wanted to come hang out here. He agreed, if only to make her happy, and decided to treat this as a test of his willpower. How long could he stand this mall without complaining? So far he'd made it an hour and a half, thankful when Chicago had suggested that they go get some lunch. That was until he saw the food court, packed with people who happily stuffed their faces full of greasy french fries, people whose main source of exercise was searching for the remote. After finally finding a place that offered a sandwich bar, he sat down at the table, waiting for Chicago to return with her own chosen food. It had been at least a week since he and Chicago had managed to spend some time together, and as his first and best friend at the school, Chase had found himself missing her. ( OUTFIT!)

As she expertly navigated the crowds in teh food court, Chicago was seriously rethinking asking Chase to meet her here. She knew he hated it, but they did stuff to purposely annoy eachother all the time. She had thought it could get better when they went to the food court for lunch, but that had been the illusion of the century.
Spying Chase sitting at a table near a sandwhich bar, she mad eher way over and plopped down onto the chair across from him, almot slamming her salad on the table (accidentally of course). She smiled at her best friend since orientation "I am so sorry Chase. I honestly didnt think that it would be such a madhouse. Did you manage to find something to eat?" ------------ outfit: here!notes: god i love them already XD

Chase lit up as his friend finally made her way over to the table. "Salad, nice choice," he commented a grin on his face. He'd considered a salad, but he needed carbs in his diet, and he didn't think croutons were going to cover it. He reached over to her plate, stealing a cucumber and popping it in his mouth. "It's fine, it's fine. I wouldn't imagine the food court could be this packed at noon on a Saturday either." He often teased her, and took great pleasure in it. It wasn't like she didn't do the same.
Looking down at his turkey and spinach sandwich on wheat bread, he nodded. "It was difficult, I'll admit, and I'm certain that they're lying about this sandwich dressing being low fat, but I do what I can." He took a bite of his sandwich, chewing carefully. He swallowed his food, and continued speaking. "So, we've hit up Fossil, Sephora, Gucci, Prada, and some store that didn't seem to have anything for sale, but had lots of empty books." The last store had confused him, but whatever. Today, he was the puppy and he would follow Chicago wherever she asked him to go.
He wagged his eyes at her. "So what's next? Victoria's Secret maybe? I could definitely give you the guy's perspective."

Chicago grinned as she looked at her friend, "Why thankyou, Chase. I must say that sandwhic looks delicious". She pretended to be annoyed when he nicked her cucumber, but she wasn't really. Besides, she made up for it by reaching over and grabbing a peice of turkey from his sandwhich. She playfully leant over the table and swatted his arm "Shut up, you. No one asked for your opinion." She knew he was only teasing, they teased eachother often.
"They probably are. False advertising and all that jazz." She smiled, they had made gret time around the mall today, and she had a few shopping bags to prove it. "But yeah, I don't know what was up with that store...Wierd much?" Seriously. It was full of empty books. Like, why? She honestly had no idea where she wanted to go next. But Chase and been very good, never complaining, so she thought she might let him pick the next store...
And then she heard his suggestion. Wiggling her eyebrows at him she gave him a cheeky look and said "Sure, why not?" Chicago suppressed a giggle as she waited for his reaction. She didnt think he actually thought she'd go along with it...

Though he sneered a bit as she stole a piece of turkey, he didn't really mind. "That book store, I think it might be one of those places for yuppies. You know, the ones who like to pretend that they're intelligent, but really the one accurate comment they made on the Trojan war came from watching a movie that just so happened to portray something correctly." Given that his father was a professor of ancient warfare, and it was something of a passion for himself as well, he often found himself involved in those types of conversations. Besides his father, he'd yet to find someone else who could match him in the discussion.
His jaw dropped in surprise for a moment as she agreed to go to Victoria's Secret. "Oh, um, gosh, you know, that sounds fun, but now that you mention it, I don't think that'd be such a great idea. I mean, people will think we're dating, or something ridiculous like that. Don't want to give people the wrong impression, you know." What was he doing?! He was missing an opportunity here! Still, this probably wasn't the best way to go about seeing his best friend in her undies. "Yeah, no, that would be... inappropriate."
Taking another bite of his sandwich, he proposed something else. "Hey, you know, why don't we go live a little? I'll buy us ice cream or something. Maybe after that we can go check out a book store that sells real books!" He contemplated going back to the Victoria's Secret conversation, but he didn't think he could. He missed his chance. Well, perhaps another one would present itself someday.

She nodded in agreement as he stated his theory about the books while she ate his turkey. "Hey maybe we shoudl go back and ask them what the deal is?"
She tried so hard not to laugh as his jaw almost hit the table and he stumbled his way through trying to string together a coherent sentence. She loved making him squirm.
Chicago put on a slight pout as he denied the idea, and proposed something new. Ice cream did sound good, but she wanted to embarass him some more. She was so evil, she could envision herself cackling and rubbing her hands together. "I suppose...but I really do like the Victoria Secret plan...." she replied, still maintaining her glum face, waiting for his blustering response out of this one...

Chase laughed as she suggested actually asking the store what their purpose was. "Yes, I'm sure that would go over wonderfully, dear. 'Excuse me, I don't know if you've noticed, but someone seems to have erased all your books whilst you weren't looking! Perhaps you should fix that.'" He shook his head, trying to imagine the look on the face of the shopkeep.
He felt his eye twitch ever so slightly as she pressed on with the Victoria's Secret idea, He almost regretted ever bringing it up. Why was he losing his cool with Chicago? It wasn't like he'd never seen the nearly nude female form in person before. Something about the thought of Chicago in lingerie caused him to have to force the red from his face. It was because she was a daughter of Aphrodite, wasn't it? Her little magical powers involved causing normally level headed men to become blathering idiots, right? Well, no more. Chase wasn't going to let her get the best of him.
"Well, if you really insist, I'm sure we could go in and find something particularly lovely for you. Even if I have to spend hours in there, watching you try on bras, I'm here to help." He flashed her a grin. No matter what happened, he would win. If she backed down, he won. If she allowed him a fashion show comprised entirely of undergarments, he won. "I can even test out the shape for you. You know, make sure it's not awkward on any hands. It would have to be on you, of course."

"Don't laugh at me! I mean why not? What is the purpose is selling books with nothing in them?! Its stupid!"
She saw the sligh eye twitch and knew she had the upperhand. She would wait and see waht he said. If he said no, she'd plead again. If he said yes, she had half a mind to actually go to the store with him and call his bluff.
She laughed as he agreed. She knew Chase, in his mind he had a win win scenario going. But not for long. She smiled"Actually, now that you mention it, I really do feel like ice-cream. I'll get someone else, like Sage, Semper or Dodge to come with me on Wednesday or something. So forget about it."

He laughed at his friend/ "It's not the idea of the books. I get that. It's the fact that you actually want to to go ask them. The best we can do is just leave them alone to whatever it is they do when they pretend to read their fake books."
When she mentioned the other boys, he mentally swore. He completely for got about that option. Wait a second... "Sage?" he asked incredulously. "You would bring your brother bra shopping?" He sneered at the other two mentioned as well. "Those boys are the unsavory type. You wouldn't want to bring them along bra shopping of all things. They would, you know, look at you." He was silent for a moment. "Really though? Sage?"

"Well i want to know why they waste perfectly good store space by selling fake books!" Chicago replied, pretenfing to get really riled up.
She knew he'd bite the bait. He was the only one that knew that Sage was her brother. "You forget dearest, No-one else knows he's my brother. Unsavoury? Semper and Dodge? Ha. You, sir, are jealous. I'm the daughter of Aphrodite, babe...They're supposed to look at me. Why not? I need someone's opinion." she shrugged as she replied. Gosh, she loved getting him al lworked up. She was so mean sometimes.

Chase just laughed at her. "They sell fake books because they're pretentious! Why don't we also go to that one store that sells cat sweaters. You know, the ones with sweaters for cats? Have you ever tried to put a sweater on a cat? Trust me, they don't like it."
He shook his head at her accusations. "JEALOUS? Oh please, Chicago. I'm not jealous! I'm looking out for you! I know you're Aphrodite's daughter, and thus, you're going to have men staring at you all the time...and women too, I suppose." He leaned forward to her. "I'm simply trying to keep men from lusting after you with no regards to your feelings, and no attempts to steal your heart. Just your underwear."
He leaned back. "I'm trying to save you, for your benefit. You have an effect on most men, given your parentage, and I would hate to see you taken advantage of. I can give you an opinion without hoping to ravage you. I am a safe options for lingerie shopping."

She pouted. "Its still stupid. But people ACTUALLY buy those sweaters. Who buys an empty book??"
Chicago laughed, she knew she was right. "Yes, Chasey-babe, jealous" she said with a grin, then continued. "I'm sure Chase." She was touched by his concern though. There were only a couple of people she could truly count on to protect her if she needed it.
Steping closer to him, she looked up at him "Thankyou. Really. I knew there was a reason you've been my best friend for so long. I know that you secrectly want to ravage me though Chase, but I'll take you lingerie shopping with me" she said with a grin, then stood up on her tippytoes, and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Chase tilted his head to the side. "Obviously there's a market for fake books if someone can dedicate a whole store to them, don't you think?" To be honest, he still wasn't convinced that he hadn't inadvertently walked onto the set of some horrible reality television show.
Maybe he was a bit jealous. Chicago had been his first, and for a while, his only friend at Richmond, and while they had easily settled into the best friend route, he'd begun to start feeling like maybe he felt a little bit more for her than just a best friendship sort of thing. He often tried to shove it down, telling himself that it was just that fact that she was a Daughter of Aphrodite that he couldn't stop thinking about her, but he had to wonder if that was true. He gave her a grin. "Of course, Chicago. I'll always be here."
He blushed a bit at her words, and the kiss on his cheek. It wasn't an abnormal occurrence. They were often flirty with each other, and she'd kissed him on the cheek numerous times before. He had no idea why today he was acting do differently. He threw an arm around her, pulling her closer. "Meh, everyone wants to ravage you. It's hardly fair for you to be so beautiful." With a small smile, he sighed. "I'm not going to make you take me with you to go underwear shopping. Now if you really want to, I can't say I'll say no. But I'm not asking to go."

Chicago frowned, but dropped the subject, as she had run out of points to argue the matter on.
She glanced over at him and could see him thinking about something, but didnt comment. She knew he was jealous, even if it was only a little bit. They had been best friends for a long time, and she didnt want that to change ever. "Good. You'd better be." she replied with a grin.
Chicago saw the blush and filed it away in her mind. This was a new development. They flirted all the time, and the kiss was nothing new. Once again, deciding not to pursue the matter, she smiled as he pulled her closer and blushed slightly "You're just saying that. I know you want to though Chase," she gave a grin and continued, "I'll do whatever. YOu followed me around all morning, so I think its your turn to choose what you want to do, mkay? So, what do you want to do? Honestly?"
