Jaimes plopped down onto his bed. The covers rippled around, and the black satin curtains flicked about him. He pulled the string behind his pillow, and the canopy closed around him. Momentarily, he was encased in darkness. Then he could see everything perfectly. He slipped his hand into his pillow, and pulled out his small journal. Filling out the date, he pondered his day.Journal Entry #32,
Today was...uneventful. I suppose that it could have been worse, but coffee and boredom don't bode well with me. Yesterday, I met a girl. Swimming in the middle of winter. Olivia is a nice girl. Well, that's what I've gleaned from the conversation yesterday. She was certainly a character. And she was fun to be around. You could say I liked her, but there's not much else to it. So far, it doesn't go past friendship.
~ Jaimie!?
Jaimes heard a rumbling, and his stomach ached in that strange, hollow way that only popped up when you were hungry. On the upside, Chase had never failed to fill the fridge yet, so it should be good. He pulled the thick, gold, rope-like string again, and light flooded his vision. He hopped to the kitchen, and pulled out a pizza box from last night. He put four slices on a plate, and popped it in the microwave. Waiting, he stopped the microwave at one second left, so he wouldn't have to bear that obnoxious beeping noise. He smelled the delicious scent of Dolly's BBQ Pizza, and bit down on his own tongue. Hard. He flinched, and unclenched his teeth. Jaimes jumped to the table, and ate with small, bragging bites at his delicious load of food. Ah, pizza. It could never be satisfying enough.
