Kaleb walked out onto the quat after a day in class, after his exgirlfriend, Chicago dumped him. Kaleb don't know how his life could get any worse, first of all Chicago didn't even bother to tell Kaleb that she had a brother, the Semper came in. After two confrontations with Semper, it seemed Chicago's and Kaleb's relationship went down the drain. It was then Kaleb wished that the bullet wound killed him, maybe it would've been better in the next life. Then he met Tamara, beautiful Tam, she was the reason why Kaleb was going to keep going in life. She gave him something to live for, afterall Tam was all Kaleb had in his life, Kaleb had no parents since they disowned him and haven't spoken to them in two years but Kaleb was putting that behind him just like he should be. He leaned against a tree, hearing nothing but the wind he closed his eyes thinking about Tamara.

Chicago gave a deep sigh as she came out of her last class for the day. How could she have screwed up so bad? She should have known that the Kaleb thing wasnt going to work. She would have hated herself for not being able to tell him who she really was, and that she could never love him the was he supposedly did her, because she had already given her heart to another. And to subject him to her mood swings would have just been plain mean. But, she was trying not to beat herself up about it, because he had already gotten together with her sister. Not that he knew Tam and Chicago were sisters but still. She wasnt upset. She was angry. You dont tell a girl you love them, no matter what they're feelings towards you, and then after they dump you, then proceed to go out with the nrxt person that comes along. That just didnt happen. But she wasnt angry for her as much as she was angry for Tam. Pressing a hand to her forehead, and trying to channel her calm, she moved toward the quad where she often met up with her friend after school so they could talk and then make plans for the night or walk back to their dorms together. It was then she saw him across the quad leaning against a tree. She suddenly felt sick. Sure she was angry at the guy, but she still felt a little bit bad. Kaleb could only wonder what was going on in Chicago's head, after all she was the reason why they broke up. Her just breaking up with him after he tried to protect her and show that he cared for her, he put his hand in his pocket then got a pack of cigerettes and a lighter. He got a cigerette placed it between his lips then lit it up with the lighter. He inhaled, using his two fingers to take it away from his lips then exhaled a puff of smoke that seem to move the wind, it was then he heard a voice he turned his head to see Chicago "Hey Chicago. Chicago sighed as he said hey and looked away again. She had expected that. She didnt expect for him to be happy to see her or for them to be friends. She just wanted to try and settle the matter. If that was possible.
Looking at him again she took a deep breath and begam to speak again, "Look, I understand if you're angry at me, and I dont want you to take me back or any of those stupid cliched things. I just wanted to explain a few things to you. If thats alright"

Kaleb took a deep breath, he was still pissed off for the reason she dumped him. It was stupid just because he got into an argument with her half-brother and now her boyfriend, it was stupid afterall she was the one who needed protecting, he looked at her his eyes filled with distrust "You're damn right i'm angry. Reason one you never told me you had a half-brother, two I was protecting you Chicago. If someone had hurt you, I don't know what I would do. But you know what I find pretty stupid, is some girl who thinks everyone has to bow down to her since she's the captain of the cheer team. He said to her distrust in his voice, "You lied to me from the begining, and I trusted you more then anyone here at this damn forsaken school. He said as he looked at her then away.

Chicago stood and listened as he spoke. She could understand where he was coming from. "I didnt tell you about my brother for your own sake, not mine. Sage and Semper were protecting me too. Sage is my brother and Semper is my bestfriend. Thats what they do, Kaleb. They protect me. I wasnt going to get hurt. Not physically." she paused, then frowned at his next words. She couldn't beleive he had just said that. "I do NOT think that. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And furthermore, I NEVER lied to you, and if you look back I think you'll find I'm right. The only thing I didnt do is lay all my cards out on the table for you to see, and thats what annoys you. You never asked me about my family, you never asked me where I came from, or anything like that, so I didnt tell you. Plus, there are things about me I CANT tell you, Kaleb, and you can either like it or lump it." she continued, trying hard not to raise her voice.

Kaleb tossed his cigerette to the ground, he was getting pissed off and quickly "Like I wasn't protecting you, come on Chicago. We both know you can do better then Semper, or maybe you go for guys who are popular at this school." He said to her as calmly. He continued to listen to her, he paced back and forth, before he knew it his right hand formed into a fist and he slammed it into the tree before he looked back at Chicago "That's Bullshit and you know it Chicago, I told you everything about me. And yet you took advantage of it, I told you I'd be there for you always and what do you do spit in my face call me an Asshole, blow me off. You think what you do is fair well it's not, people have different pasts then you do Chicago, nobody has a pefect life, maybe you did but I didn't. He said to her, before he walked a few foot paces away with his back towards her trying to calm himself down.

Chicago could feel her mood changing instantly. She was no longer guilty and understanding. She was mad. Really mad. How dare he say that about Semper? "So who's all high and mighty now Kaleb, huh? Semper is at least twice the man you will EVER be!" Where did he get off saying that she wanted everyone to worship her, when he's standing there shamelessly picking on Semper? Again.
She did blink in suprised when he punched the tree. She hoped that hurt like hell. "I took advantage of it? Bullshit. You dont know what being taken advantage of IS, Kaleb. Family comes first with me Kaleb. So that means my father, who's back in my hometown, Hell, in Michigan. That means Sage, Semper, Vince and Tam. They come first. And when you threatened that, thats when I broke it off. What I do? And what the fuck is that Kaleb, huh? Enlighten me. I might not have had as much of a screwed up life as you did Kaleb, but it certainly wasnt all unicorns and roses. And for god's sake, get some knew material. Quit harping on about your past. You've been there, you've done that, so leave it behind! Geez.

Kaleb scoffed when she heard that Semper was twice the man he was, it seemed that Chicago wasn't getting it through that thick, stubborn head of hers "Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it." He said to her. After hearing her about how Vince, Sage, Semper, and Tam came first, it almost seemed that she was leaving someone out, that blonde girl she hung out with and not to mention she was flirting with her boyfriend, "Says the one who is flirting with her best friends boyfriend, who turns out to be my best buddie, Dodger Moore. Yeah he's one of the buddies from my past, and I saw you flirt with him at the soccer game to. That's pretty fucked up Chicago, flirting with your best friends boyfriend who is all she has left to live for. That's new low even for you. A true friend doesn't flirt with her best friends boyfriend Chicago. He said to her. When he heard that how her life probably wasn't as bad as his he turned to her then took a few steps closer to her "When you get involved in a gang, see someone who you considered your brother get shot in the head, get in a car accident, get blamed for his death, and get disowned by your parents let me know. Until then don't even fucking say that you probably had a bad life, cause I KNOW you didn't!" He said to her, "Oh and by the way, Tamara is my new girlfriend, if you don't like it deal with it. Cause all I know she is the luckiest women in the world. He said to her.

Chicago frowned when she heard his remark. "Why do you have such a problem with him? If you are SO much better than him, why do you feel threatened?" When he brought up the soccer game it was really on. "Oh, here we go. I know Dodge is friends with you, I know he's going out with Saffs. Both Dodge and Saffs know I'm only joking. And if she has a problem with it, I'll stop. Easy." She ignored all the true friend crap he was throwing. She wasnt even going there.
As he came closer, she stood her ground, but got increasingly pissed off when he started on about the gang stuff again, twisting her words for the umpeenth time. "For fucks sake Kaleb! That was all YOUR OWN FAULT! You only have yourself to fucking blame! You know nothing about my life, and I'm glad I didnt say anything! Plus, I said that my life wasnt as bad as yours if you'd fucking listen to me when I speak. And I know she's your new girlfriend. And all I have to say about it is if you EVER do ANYTHING to hurt her, I dont care how small or insignificant it is, you will have hell to pay."

"I felt threatened when I heard him yelling at you, if you had such a problem with it, why didn't you say something instead of keeping your mouth shut?" He asked raising an eyebrow at her. He wasn't surprise that neither Semper or Sage showed up, all he knew was that he was trying to make peace with Sage, but Semper didn't seem he would. He couldn't help but laugh at her about how she would stop if Sarafina had a problem with it "Does Semper know you're flirting?" He asked her. He ignored her when he she started yelling at him, then he looked at her when she said there would be hell to pay if he had hurt her "Whatta gonna do huh? Send you're crew after me? Get real Chicago, I would never hurt someone like Tamara. Only if they hurt her, you should know me better then that. He said to her calmly trying to calm himself down.

Chicago was getting exasperated now. "But he didn't yell at me Kaleb! He DIDNT! Sage was yelling at me, not Semper. I didnt say anything becasue I was upset, and because I had already made the situation as bad as it was." She replied, blue eyes blazing. Watching him laugh just about pushed her over the edge but then he asked about Semper. Kaleb must think they were going out. Which they werent. "What does it matter to you Kaleb? And yes he does, but we aren't dating." She narrowed her eyes slightly as he asked her what she was going to do. "You don't wanna go there Kaleb, you really dont. None of us are going to hurt her, I'll stake my life on that. Oh, I should know you better than that should I?" She threw back at him. She was so flipping angry right now.

He looked at Chicago as she said that he didn't want to go there at all, he could play that game but he decided to be an adult "You should Chicago, I don't do anything to hurt girls. And let me just say Chicago, if any of your friends even lay a hand on me. I can assure you that your friendship with Dodger, Sarafina will not last at all. I know Dodger more then you will ever know.' He said to her calmly, just wanting her to know that he could play that game to.

She looked at Kaleb with an undefinable look in her eyes, "Because I always make things worse! Dont you see? I'm over emotional and that transfers to eveything I say and do. If I had've spoken up, you would've wished I hadn't." Chicago brushed her bangs back from her face when Kaleb mentioned mistakes making people human, which she wasn't. Not completely. "Mistakes complicate things." She could feel the anger subsiding and giving way to the lump that was rising in her throat. "God, dont cry....Dont cry in front of him..." She swiped at her eyes, annoyed at herself, though she knew to a degree she couldn't really help it. Emotions ran deep in her blood.
She looked at him, then looked away again, blue eyes filled with tears that threatened to spill over. She hadnt wanted for things to get so screwed up, and now he was flaunting her friends in her face. That was what threw her over the edge. Dodge and Safs were two of her really good friends, and to lose them would leave a hole in her heart. "uhm..I'm sorry..about this whole thing...and the...the crying..." She turned away from him, so he couldnt see the tears.

Kaleb then noticed something different from what they were a few seconds ago, they were filling with tears, he decided to tone it down alot he didn't want to see her cry infact he was hoping he would've avoided that. He wanted to keep Chicago happy and if leaving her alone and not even being able to be friends with her would make her happy then that would have to do. He listened to her carefully not saying a word, then she turned away he gaze softened he sighed softly then walked over to her standing infront of her, he wrapped his arms around her in a hug "I'm sorry Chicago, I should've never said that to you. I didn't mean it, honest." He said to softly, he then looked down at her then started to inch his head closer to her before his lips touched hers gently.
