Today was a typical Saturday in Renzo's life. He'd spent the last few hours on his iPhone messaging some friends in France while listening to Avril Lavigne on repeat. Earlier, he'd walked into town and had sushi for lunch. Before that, he'd spent the morning in his bedroom recovering from his champagne headache with copious amounts of coffee and toast. Very typical. Now, he was spread out on a picnic table in the quad, having moved from Avril on to Kaolin, something a bit more chilled out. Apollo's son, he was enjoying the sunshine of his father's chariot. Soaking up the rays was more than just getting a tan for Renzo, it charged him up and had the effect of putting him in a very good mood.
Nevertheless, he was set for a tan. Shirtless and lying on his stomach, his back was totally exposed to the bright winter sun. Luckily it was not too windy today, and his cut-off jean shorts were letting the lower half of his body get some sun too. A grey Guess t-shirt was neatly folded up on the table next to him, and on the far side of that, his blue and red Ben Sherman plimsolls guarded the wallet Renzo had tucked inside the left one. A pair of Dolce and Gabanna sunglasses were sitting on top of the t-shirt.
Renzo messed up his short, dark brown hair with his left hand before folding his arms in front of him and leaning his left cheek on his forearm. It was quite a nice day for the middle of winter- but then, winter didn't usually get too cold in this part of the East Coast, unless there was a harsh north-easterly pushing in the cold Arctic-Atlantic air across the country. Still, Renzo couldn't wait until the summer arrived. Granted, he'd only be staying here in America for about a month of the real summer weather before jetting back to the Riviera and some real summer weather. Ah, he so missed midnight spa parties on his step-father Tritone 80 with his friends of the same class as he.
For the meantime, though, he was content with soaking up as much sun as he could- maybe next weekend he'd go to the Bahamas or St Barts or something. For now, this little bit of relaxation would hav- what what that? Uh. Renzo sighed. Someone was talking. Very close to him. It was not appreciated- at all. Pushing himself up, he rolled over into a seated position, pulling out his iPhone earphones and placing the D&Gs over his dark eyes, looking around for the source of the voices that had disturbed him from his Saturday tanning regime.

Destiny was in her room sitting peacefully when her dog, Maggie began to whine. Destiny had been avoiding giving her dog a walk, she didnt want to run into anyone or have to annoy anyone with her stutter.
Destiny let out a sigh and grabbed her dogs leash and taking her outside. Destiny walked carefully beside her dog, leading her towards the quad. She had just reached it when she heard voices nearby. She flinched away from the sound and kept walking, keeping her eyes on where the voices were coming from.
Destiny let out a squeak as she ran into a picnic table. Maggie began barking and Destiny noticed the guy sitting on the table. "I-im so s-s-s-sorry. I didnt s-s-see you" She stuttered frantically.

Renzo frowned. Next to him, a girl with very long hair was stuttering some apology at him, and a dog was barking at him too. He sneered at the dog. 'Tais-toi, chien!' he growled at it, staring it down. Idiot dog, he thought. Renzo hated dogs. They were so usually not well behaved. With the exception of the occasional hand-bag dog or something cool like an Alsation or a Siberian husky, he despised the animals. Cats were nice. And rabbits. More people should have pet rabbits instead of dogs, he thought.
He flicked his eyes, hidden behind the sunglasses, up at the girl. 'It's fine,' he said, his tone expressing how pissed off he was. 'Just control your dog next time, it's not polite you know? With the barks. It's annoying.' He folded his arms and looked at the girl as if he were a severely disappointed teacher. It was a look he'd perfected over the last couple of years and it usually worked quite effectively on people he didn't know very well. They usually ended up stammering for his forgiveness and promising that they'd try harder or do better next time... on people who were his friends though, they usually just laughed and told him to get over himself. Not. Impressive. He didn't know this girl though- so he removed his glasses for extra effect.
He studied the girl briefly. She looked vaguely familiar- which meant she was probably a demigoddess, considering he very rarely had anything to do with the mortal students at Richmond High School. But she wasn't in his year, he was sure he'd know her if she was- it wasn't that big a school. And she certainly didn't look older than him, so he assumed she must be a freshman or a sophomore, or maybe a just-transferred junior or something. Renzo didn't like not knowing who she was. He liked knowing who everyone was, where they'd been and what they were doing.... it was a bit of a control freak thing, but that was the way he liked it. 'Who are you?' he asked, his teacher-tone dropping for a more suspicious one. 'I don't know you, are you in any of my classes?'

Chicago smiled as she walked through the quad on the Saturday morning. She had had a good week, and was planning to continue the streak through the weekend, by hopefully catching up with one of her friends, whome she hadnt had a chance to talk to much throughout the week. Spying him "talking" to a younger girl with his teacher face on, she breezed over and decided to help the girl escape too much embarassment.
When she reached the two, she stood next to Renzo and placed her arm through his, giving him a "hi", and gave the girl a warm smile to let her know she didnt have cause to be afraid of her. Turning to Renzo she gave a slight reproving look. "Renzo, you don't have to be so brutish, you're scaring her." He would know she was telling him to simmer down, and if an arguement broke out, it wouldnt matter, because everyone thought they hated eachother anyway. It was the source of many laughs for them both.

Destiny let out a low shaky whistle and her dog stopped barking and sat down. She gave her dog a pat and felt herself grow tense again as another girl walked up. She was almost positive she had seen them before and she knew they were demigods.
"Im D-d-destiny, daughter of N-nyx" She said softly. She closed her eyes so she couldnt see if they gave her annoyed looks. Her stutter annoyed people and that was the main reason she had started to go to a therapist. She didnt want people to be annoyed at her.

Oh great, thought Renzo. Just what I need, a visit from Chicago Eastlyn. He sighed audibly so she would know that her presence did not entertain him- when secretly it did, although he'd never actually tell her he liked her. He and Chicago and the perfect relationship. They acted like they hated each other, but really the did each other little favours all the time, got on famously in private, and stuck up for each other if they needed to. And she was attractive, which was a necessity in Renzo's book- one's friends must be good-looking, and he didn't care how shallow that made him. He was allowed to surround himself with beautiful people if he had to surround himself with people at all. But no, Chicago was pretty much perfect for him- if he wasn't as gay as a Twilight movie, he might have even been attracted to her.
'Ew. Can I help you?' he asked the brunette, frowning at her now that his D&Gs had been removed and his dark eyes could look over her and disapprove of her outfit. Hey, honesty was the best policy. 'I like the dress, but take that hideous thing out of your hair and never paint your nails that colour again,' he suggested bluntly, switching his expression to a smile faster than a bisexual guy switched teams.
He rolled his eyes, but still grinned, when Chicago told him not to be brutish. 'Chichi,' he said, using his personal nickname for her, 'you know I am not brutish. Brutish is for pushing and shoving. I am brutal. Big difference. I prefer this way too, you know? Is much more honest, non?' He flicked his eyebrows at her. Ah, she was fun. But now, the other girl was talking about.
Dee-Dee Destiny? Poor child, he thought. What parent would call their child that? He was just waiting for her to say her last name was Delaney-Downes or something equally as alliterate. Ah, but she was a daughter of Nyx. That explained why he'd seen her around, but wasn't it a bit strange that she introduced herself with her parentage? Perhaps she was still kind of new. Renzo never mentioned that his father was Apollo. He kind of thought it was redundant- Apollo had never really been a father to him. He'd never even met Apollo- Apollo visited his mother Elisabetta occasionally, and often before Renzo was born, but he'd never gone out of his way to visit Renzo. Connard, Renzo thought. Besides, wasn't it obviously he was a son of Apollo? As far as most people were concerned, the sun shone out of Renzo's arse... oh, and he was good with a bow and arrow.
'Well, Dee-Dee Destiny,' he said, smiling now- appearances were everything. 'Let's just make sure we can control our pets in the future. We'd hate to be annoying people or for our chien to be taken away or something like that, wouldn't we?' His tone was only a little bit condescending- but his threat wasn't necessarily empty. He had his 'connexions'... but he wasn't below a little bit of personal sabotage and subterfuge if the occassion called for it. No, he'd never actually hurt the dog, he wasn't a cruel person.... he might just 'borrow' it and leave it in the middle of the nearby pine forest with some toys to keep it entertained, should the dog become an annoyance or a problem to him. That way, even if it did find it's way home, he could have at least a week of silence when he wanted to chill out in the quad... his now warm expression continued to smile at Dee-Dee Destiny, never giving anything away. 'Isn't that right, Chicago?' he added, winking at her conspiratorially, though he knew that if worst came to worst she'd never do something as deceitful as kidnap a dog, he'd hope she'd realise it would be fun to tease the poor girl- and he and Chicago were experts at good cop, bad cop.

She saw him frown and grinned inside. God, she loved their realtionship. EVERYONE thought they hated eachother, becasue they hadnt given them reson to think otherwise. Everytime they were together in public they were at eachothers throats. But, behind closed doors they were great friends, which amused them to no end.
As he insulted her clothes, she knew he was joking, but continued the charade for the benefit of Destiny. "Excuse me? Don't insult me in public Ferrero." She countered, using her nickname for him.
She rolled her eyes, "Much more asshole-ish if you ask me Ferrero, but to each their own" They had such fun together, it should be illegal. Well maybe not, but you know.
She felt sorry for the girl. She had a stutter. That would suck. She could almost hear the cogs turnign in Renzo's brain. Please dont make fun of her...Oh, no, there he went. Shit. But the fact that she introduced herself with her parentage caught Chicago off guard. The girl had to be new, else she wouldnt have done that.
She caught the wink he threw her, and she knew that he knew that she wouldnt harm an animal, but he did have a point. Also, she knew he was trying to implement Good Cop, Bad Cop. She landed Good Cop again, so she reinforced his statement with her own words and slightly nicer, and threw a smile into the mix "That is right. We should definitely try to keep our pets behaving nicely. When Diesel barks, all I have to do is look at him funny and he knows to stop." she smiled again and laid a hand on the girls arm as she leant closer. "And you should probably take more care in telling people who your parents are. What if we were regulars?" Although she tried to come off as nice, she thought the girl might take it as snarky. But she was seriously worried. The demigods and goddesses at this school were a secret, and this girl had just intoruced herself as one like that...

Dee-Dee Destiny? Destiny blinked her eyes a few times at him, choosing to ignore it instead of attempting to correct him. She blinked as he seemed to be threatning to take her dog. She didnt miss the wink that went on between the two but she still took it personally. "Maggie o-only barks when s-she meets u-u-unfamiliar p-people. S-she doesnt like b-b-boys much either" Destiny despised her stutter at that moment, it made everything hard to explain.
Destiny ripped her arm away from the other girls touch and her breathing quickened. Now she felt her cheeks turn red, she should have warned them of her fear of being touched, now it was going to take her a few moments to reply. When the few moments passed she turned back to Chicago, "I k-knew you weren't r-r-regulars."
