There were several rooms that lined the walls of grand ballroom at Richmond High School. The first room was labeled seven - twelve. The persons assigned those numbers would walk into the room where they would walk to the left, seven, or the right, twelve. There was a single chair on each side where the person would sit and face a deep red curtain that covered the whole room. At that time, the curtain opened revealing who Miss Smack had partnered them up with.

Screw it, Cory, the junior though to herself as she pinched her feet into high heels. She had just stepped from the shower, a towel around her waist. Pumps were always the first to be put on, even if she was totally stripped otherwise. Tripping was inevitable, but she needed the longest possible time to practice so the number of mishaps would be considerably depreciated. Practice makes something close to perfect, right? After Cory had dried her face and hair, she started with her single paddle brush that she had owned since age thirteen. Her hair dried naturallly curly, thank god, but with a few scrunches with her knuckles, the waves were overwhelmingly loopy. [ click for hair ] Next came the cosmetic things. Cory wasn't exactly ecstatic when it came to this plastic sort of stuff, so her tools were limited. But through the rummaging, she uncovered a playfully solid liquid liner. That, as well as a glittery purple eyeshadow sheen, and soft opaque gloss, was all it really took to fix the ragged wet mess that had sprung from the shower perhaps twenty minutes before. [ click for the makeup ] Next, Cory tried to hunt down for her clothes. She had gone shopping, certainly. She didn't own too many fancy things, at least nothing suited for a cocktail styled Valentine's Dance. She pulled a short, purple dress from a crinkly shopping bag and over her head. Tights underneath, of course. At such a point, Cory couldn't have been more ready.
In less than five minutes, Cory was at the door of the ballrooms. Immediately, she saw several doors. Cory knew well enough to look through for her numbers. She had nearly completely forgetten about the date thing. Arranged, of course, by Miss Smack. That Bitch! Mona thought, wondering who would be before her when the time came. But it didn't really bother her. She planned to have fun nomatter who was by her side. It's not like anything would happen, and if it did - it wouldn't mean a thing. Seven. Mona saw her number on the first door - next to the number twelve. She tried not to worry about who that would be. She just calmly stepped behind her side of the curtain and held her breath.

God what had he gotten himself into. Really now a blind date basically? This was so not him, normally he was social with those he knew but here he was getting ready for some stupid dance with some one he most likely did not even know. How nerve racking right? He had showered and was now getting dried off, his curly long hair handing over his face as she dried it out. Once he was dry he headed to his room and got dressed, he was going to go in a white tux with a black under shirt. It made him almost look like a bouncer or something due to his massive size. As he stood in his room, he manipulated the air around him to create a strong gust of wind to give his hair a natural look. He was nervous but was not going to stand some one up either, just because he did not know them. Who knew maybe he would wind up liking the person? He hoped he would have fun. It was not like his arm was twisted into signing up. After he was dressed and fixed himself up he put some cologne on and shaved. He looked rather sharp and it gave him that clean look as well. He was impressed actually, as he stood their in his hall he looked back at the mirror and then headed out of the house. He was going to bring his baby. Whats that you may ask? Oh nothing special Just a 1970 Ford Cobra that he pained and worked on himself. It was something he had worked on since he was thirteen. He started it up and let the engine rumble as he smiled, he backed out from the drive way since he was not currently at the rooms on campus he had to drive. He smoked the tires as he pulled away and he made his way to the Ball. It took him about fifteen minutes to get their, He parked the car and got out. Walking through the doors he made his way down to where his number was. A huge smile spread to his face as he sat down. At first he was really nervous but when the curtains opened to show who his date was for the night his entire face lit up and he smiled happily. Cory was to be his date? Damn how could he go wrong? She was his best friend for one and he had a crush on her, one he had held for the past few years. It was neat how they where grouped together and it made him extremely happy.

Shit, thought Cory, curtain opening before her. Riley? She wouldn't have guessed Miss Smack could be this devious. Maybe she couldn't have thought of anyone for her, so just threw her against her best friend and hoped for the most scandalous. She rolled her eyes, though a small smile was beginning to play on her lips. They could just go as friends, right? But her cheeks burnt, unseen under the dim lighting in the room, and she knew (and a little bit of her hoped) that something bigger than both of them might happen. "Hey Ri," Cory smiled, covering up her thoughts for the evening, as she stood up, watching the tail of her dress float along behind her, and gave her best friend a best friend hug.

He smiled at her and stood up, as he walked over to her the two hugged and he looked at her a little more closely. She looked amazing, even better then she normally did. Though he should have figured since she was now dressed to look pretty. He blinked a few times then stepped back a little. "Hey Cory! haha.. I cant believe we got paired, a little strange but still wow.. It is better then strangers thats for sure." He could not help but flush in his cheeks a little as he talked with her. Its not like it was his fault he had a crush on his best friend. After all the two have been with each other for well forever really. It was just bound to happen right? Their was a bed in the room, along with some other furniture. Miss smack really did go into some detail for this party. Yeah her intentions where a little on the messed up side and he was not going to be drinking anything she put out. But hey still the whole thing was nicely set up. Walking over to the bed he sat down on the edge and laid back. Letting out a soft sigh he smirked. "Im starting to think this miss smack lady is a little on the devious side. Wonder if she put camera's up as well. Oh well. Any way what shall we do? "

Cory smiled as her best friend spoke, and her eyes followed him as he got up and flopped on top of the bed. Her eyes glanced from his spot on the mattress to the door that must have entered into the ballroom. She smiled slight, flopping down on the bed next to him. "Im starting to think this miss smack lady is a little on the devious side. Wonder if she put camera's up as well. Oh well. Any way what shall we do? " Cory rolled her eyes. "Beyond devious," she echoed "But wayy screwed up. Wanna go into the ballroom place thingy? Doesn't sound like anyone's in there yet"
